Assigning a single copyright from a collection

I wonder if anyone can help...

I registered the copyrights of a bunch of my tracks as a collection.

Now a rapper wants the exclusive license for a few of these tracks. On the assignment of copyright contract it requires the registration # of the track. Can I put the registration # of the collection down on the contract but make it very clear that I am only transferring the rights of "beat X" and "beat Y" from the collection? I hope I don't have to re-register these tracks separately.

I'd re-register as a new title. Makes it easier to track.

Keeping track is not going to be a problem, but I'm looking to find out if it's legally possible to license only certain tracks from a collection. anyone?

Not YOU keeping track... but the various collections agencies. Unique idents mean you'll get paid correctly (well, that's the theory !! )

sorry about that, i meant keeping track of it wouldn't be a problem as the final song would be copyrighted as well. Thanks for your help!

As far as registering the copyrights is concerned I think you will be fine doing it the way you want to do it. But for registration with PROs (etc) then as an individual work will be mandatory anyway. I assume you're talking about your copyright registrations with the library of congress?
