Went into our local town last weekend to buy an Audioslave album.

Not a SINGLE store had it......

I know it's a catch 22, but how can I buy music when it's not for sale?

The packaging is amazing. But I'm embarrassed to say that I've only listened to it on Spotify . I need to pull out the CDs and rip the full uncompressed audio.

some store on the internet is selling it

faster better cheaper easier
than driving downtown to the overpriced understocked local store to find out they "will be glad to order it for you " (from the same place on the internet you could have started with)

BTW. These days I'm only purchasing CDs I can't find on Qobuz, I'm using Qobuz for all my desktop/hifi and mobile music consumption, because it allows me to have all my favorite music in one location streaming in true CD quality (lossless) and is consumable from anywhere anytime.

A few of the cheap reissue 'Classic albums' 5-er packages:

- Bobby Darin
- Ornette Coleman
- Dionne Warwick

Some of these remasters are amazing. When I listened to 'Walk on by' it sounded so much better than on any compilation. I was plainly knocked out by how great this song/arrangement is!

Also Wilco's latest album and a big Bear Family Freddie King CD box.

Florence & the Machine - Ceremonials (epic, but proably too loud)
Ladytron - Gravity the Seducer (still digesting)
Roots Manuva - 4everevolution (touring here soon

and expect to buy the new Wilco in the next week or two...

Cool

Cx.

They are inconvenient in this day and age. Sorry...I gave away all my CD's a couple years ago and all my music is on HD.

I agree with Doorknocker about "Walk on By", great song and great arrangement. The muted electric guitar hits sound great. But then EVERYTHING on that track sounds great!

That's a great album, though admittedly, I bought the download version.

The last physical CD I bought was Loreena McKennitt's A Midwinter Night's Dream. Before that I think it was Bon Iver.

Too good to be merely downloaded. Had to be owned and held!

Smashing Pumpkins - Gish remastered box set.

Bjork - Biophilia (had the album on iTunes, but wanted a physical copy to listen to at home).
