the newest threat to file sharing

this I think will be one of the newest threats and largest to file sharing copyright protection etc.

YouTube - Microsoft Surface - The Possibilities

even in the commerical it shows how easy its going to be to flick mp3s to a new device

And why is that a bad thing again?

Why do you think making it -HARDER- for law-abiding consumers to enjoy music they purchase (by locking it down with DRM and not being able to transfer it/play it back on other devices) will even slightly slow down file-sharing?

Fight piracy with convenience!

rkmusic it's comming though have you seen all the new touchscreen stuff prices are comming down some phones now are just all touch screen etc. this is something I could really see happening in large public places in the future. It makes business sense. Imagine if these tables dropped in price to something reasonable at a pizza place how many less emplyoees could this place have if there was no need for a front cashier or servers to take orders just bring food? Now lets drop these tables to 3,000 each 1 table could easily replace 3 employees as far as pay goes

mayor99 you miss the point this would easily allow 2 seperate people to set down 2 mp3 players an share files they didn't pay for like borrowing someone elses song list and copyig it over to yours very easily. it won't just hurt the entertainment industry, but also it will leave a very diffrent impression of file sharing again as not being a form of crime and copyright will become more pointless

Oh yea, Apple's gonna make iPods a two way street due to the high pressure of Microsoft's "Surface".
