You can argue whether or not its "supporting" the industry or not, but I don't think you can argue the legality.

I'm 18 and am just about to finish college, through earning money working part time in the studio i work at, Gigging and other odds and sods, I've bought 200 CD's, amazon is frighteningly cheap, if you can pick up a few awesome records, dirty cheap and still support the industry, why not?

it's not my argument.

In my opinion, if you are not paying to support the industry (artists), I don't care if you're paying.

You don't have to care...It's not illegal, in fact I would have a hard time allowing myself, who is also one of those artists, to spend $16 on a CD when I can get it for much cheaper somewhere else. Just saying.
