I can speak about Pump Audio form the end user side. Some of the networks that I have worked for have the Pump Audio drives floating around for the editors to pull from, and they do get a fair amount of use as far as I can tell.

I personally haven't found the music to be especially useful for my purposes. I wouldn't say that it's terrible and I have used some cuts on occasion. My biggest gripe is that many of the tunes don't have a definitive ending. A fade out doesn't do me any good when I'm trying to sync music to picture. I'd also prefer more underscores-- nothing drives me crazier than finding a nice groove that suddenly has a bagpipe solo starting on the 8th bar .

Not anymore, Pump now only pays out 35% of the license fees, they keep 65%.

You can thank the Getty buyout for this.

Has anyone opted out because of this change?

I have my 2nd production cd with pump.
I have other deals to consider but am not against putting more with pump either.

With regard to getting the 'Green Light' I thought I would test this out and sent them two tracks of some rough work that I would say shouldn't make the grade, however they got through and within 48 hours.

Make of that what you will

Pump Audio

I have a question.

After you're already green lit and you send in your album,
how long does it typically take for it to completely finish it's reviews and start making money?

I realize this depends on the material,
but I've been waiting like 4 or 5 months now
and I want to see how well my first album does before I send in the 2nd one which is unfathomably better than the first.

I have to know whether or not this is a normal waiting period, because I feel like I'm spinning my wheels while waiting to send in the second album.

P.S. someone here complained about songs having fade outs instead of decent endings and about a lack of consistent backtracks.
I am focusing a lot on these two areas so don't worry.
I'm sure there are lots of people like myself who put a lot of work into their endings and who leave the bagpipes out of the mix :P

Pump Audio and the U.K.

@Psy-Pye

I don't know about the U.K.,
but I'm Canadian and pump accepted me
so I'm pretty sure they work internationally.
