Thread Starter | Whats up with the C note?
I have a huge problem. Whenever Im recording guitar or bass the note C always pukes. Everything is shaking and it sounds like its been boosted a few times. The note sounds unclear. A compressor doesnt do the job. It doesnt matter if its on an acoustic bass or guitar or its electric, I just about to blow up my studio. Anyone ever heard of this? Can it be the room, or my speakers? I can still hear it when its played back after recording. |

I bet it happens on keyboards too, - if you make your room larger or smaller the C note problem will go away...and probably reappear at another frequency! you hear it on playback, but if you recorded your bass direct, you probably won't hear it when you play back your CD in some other room or your car. It might be asking too much to knock down walls and reshape your space, but at least get some serious bass trapping going on in your room. Broadband absorbtion is always a good idea, and in your case you might want to also look into some kind of bass trap tuned to your specific 'C'. |
