Young Chop steals Vybe's beats

This is sad on so many levels. What kind of producer would risk their name as being labeled a biter. I bet we will see a lot more stories of young chop stealing tracks. The worst part is some people are saying its not stealing but its "re-making" i thought they were one it the same

Legally shouldn't vybe be entitled to all the mechanical royalties/revenue made from this song. as he has owns the copyright ?

The only things you can 'copyright', are lyrics, and melody. Anything else you can copy note for note, as long as it's not the original performance...

The main part is spot on pretty much. It sounds very familiar though.... is it a synth patch?

I guess you need to steal beats when your most none for putting a nexus plucked preset with some 808s.

I was just gonna say something about nexus lol. That's one unfortunate drawback of using it. I don't use it for this very reason anyone could recreate your music with it.

yea, lack of natural or security in there own talent drives people to do ****ed up shit. after someone does that once and is found out though there work is always going to be suspect. I take satisfaction in the no personal pride thing or character. cuz I could give a **** what someone else thinks of a thief, I want the thief to know that of themselves. I got jumped for 5 of my notebooks once, this shit pisses me off.

Sometimes beats can sound very similar by coincidence, but that's usually more in the realm of sampled beats that just happen to use the same sample.

Listening to these two tracks and it's obvious that this is way more than a coincidence. Somebody got straight copied.

compositional copyright is applicable in all music as long as it created to be used together. melody is dependent on what the music being used jointly with it is saying. note for note is infringement. using the same thematic and unique aspects of the same music is infringement. it is theft. period.

that is the exact reason that there is a thing called "work for hire".
Should Clyde Stupefied be considered a cowriter with James Brown? Funky Drummer influenced quite a bit of Hip Hop...
Was he a work for hire? Yes. Is he entitled to any JB cowrites or Public Enemy writes? No.

Maybe it was a situation where he [chop] was approached by an artist who wanted "that specific beat" and so he just remade it?
