Thread Starter | How to keep the wife busy so I can play
Please to suggest hobbies to recommend to wife so that she doesn't moan about how much I'm in the bedroom studio. Not looking for a divorce personally, so that's not high on the list.

1. ScrapBooking
2. Pinterest
IMO, the wife is the primary relationship so music is after that. Scrapbooking will fix your problem and give you another as youll need lots of money to support her new hobby.

Hey so sorry to derail the thread with my own problems Lets talk about you.
I had this dumbarse alcoholic bf once when I was first getting into collecting vintage roland analog drum machines and cool vintage synths. He liked getting getting pissed on bourbon and then he'd wobble all about my studio, sloshing sticky liquid everywhere. That put my heart in my throat. So I tried to teach him cubase but he was, you know, an idiot. So then I got him into DJ'ing. That really solved the problem, with dumbing it all down to mixing just two sounds. He got ok at it too, so long as it was 4/4.
Anyway thats what I did, hope it helps.

Have her sell Amway. When she comes home tell her how great she is, and she can do it! Then send her back out.

Have you thought about inviting your wife into the home studio to spend time with you while you work?
I'm lucky. I married a bass player who makes an EXCELLENT studio assistant.
Odds are, she's not going to want anything to do with the studio or else this post wouldn't be on here. I got my wife a Kindle Fire and besides getting 9,000 emails about the books she's downloading off of my prime membership, it keeps her busy. She also takes classes at the Comm College to get enough science credits to become a teacher...
Hobbies are a very personal thing. You just gotta be supportive.

You need to reorient her standards. Completely quit recording for a couple of weeks, and then start going to the bar on a daily basis and coming home drunk at midnight. It won't be long before she's begging to have the old music-making you back.

send your wife to me, I'll keep her entertained. HAHAHA that was just a joke, of course. you can send her to a fitness class or something like that. she will spend her time there while you are occupied with music, but she will also be in a better shape, and that's another thing you could like.

The problem is not your music, it's something else. You will need to communicate , discuss, connect etc. with her for quite a long time before having it solved. Reading some books on relationship and following thei PRACTICAL ADVICE should help.
Old, common problem. All the best.

Like choond said, get the (old man) involved. 25yrs ago I turned him on to trying to run sound. Now he's out with my band and several other bands too. Gives me plenty of time to do my thing.peace

Old, common problem. All the best. | This man knows what he's talking about!
Sadly you can't just ignore her or give her something to do. Something is seriously wrong with you're relationship if you aren't allowed the time to do what you want. You'll have to look at it from her point of view - She's a Woman, not a Man. The same rules don't apply
