I saved $$ for 2yrs to buy a Triple Rectifier half stack. Grant it that was during my minimum wage days just after high school. But it was my dream amp and well worth the effort.

The reason I don't have any money is I've been in hospital for 6 months and probably won't be able to get back to my job as an A/V tech for another year, not because I'm part of some lazy generation. All people are different. I know very hard working young people.

When I wanted to buy a reel to reel tape player back in the 1970s I signed up to work in the Salt Mines of Hell for 10 years working every day, and saving 4 cents out of the 13 cents I made a day. I signed up for 4 consecutive terms in the mines.

I never asked anyone for anything-no handouts, no entitlements.

Now 40 years later my back is stuffed and I can't fully open my eyes as my tear ducts have completely calcified from all that salt and sun. But just yesterday I went and got my reel to reel and boy did I earn it.





But everyone's using iPhones now bwaaahhh.........

my post was a half cocked generalization talking about my actual personal experience in trying to hire people. seems it touched a nerve as it prompted this snarky private email to me:

sounds like a young and bitter person's response. I could go on to explain that this is exactly what I was talking about, but I just feel if you don't get it then you just don't get it.

When I was young if we wanted something, we had to build it ourselves out of body parts and cast off machinery. There were none of these fangled shopping malls and internets. Hell, we had to even build our own generators to provide electricty; way before Roswell where we learned about Nitinol and micro-processors.
