So installing Mountain Lion was a bad idea.

I updated my mac to mountain lion, got it started up.

apparently Recycle is not usable with mountain lion nor is Logic pro 9??(which I rarely use but still.

also my audio interface (saffire 6) isnt showing up, I tried re installing it which has done nothing.

So yeah mountain lion was money well spent.

Got the interface working but im not sure about recycle I get this when clicking it.

You can’t open the application “ReCycle” because PowerPC applications are no longer supported.

Same. Ostensibly all of my software works or has an upgrade that will deal with compatibility issues, but I gig so frequently that I seriously fear any upgrades at this point. When I upgraded to Lion I couldn't use my audio interface for a month, even though the manufacturer claimed it'd be fine -- an issue like that would be catastrophic now.

I'm gonna have a look at Mountain Lion when Apple launches a new MacPro (and hopefully by that time a new Logic X version is availiable). Until then 10.6.8 all the way.

BTW I do have ML on my MBA, not too impressed with it. The only thing I miss on my MacPro is twitter integration and Safari 6.

I don't think updating legal software licences will be a very smooth sailing process either
