Broke several ribs, how long?

Broke several ribs and getting out of bed takes an incredible TWENTY MINUTES of contortions and gentle movements.

The pain in like having butt sex with a boweling ball.

There is no treatment besides pain meds and im going with some herb smoking.

Iv got production to do and can any one tell me how long the incredible pain part will last?

6 weeks to heal but how long till I can function?

Broke three. Twice. Was still able to cough or sneeze them out of place four years later. Feel your pain. No, nothing you can do. Don't pick up anything heavy with that side arm. Period.

I broke 4-5 ribs on my right side last year and wasn't able to lay down for two weeks, slept sitting-ish on the couch. sucked.

I can still feel my breaks when I stretch or when it's cold in the morning.

Cannabis food is the way to go! I also used icy/hot to relieve the muscle contractions waking up and going to sleep. Good luck sorry to hear of your injury!

and yes coughing, sneezing, laughing and sorry to be crude but taking a crap are PAINFUL!!!

My old roommate got his ass handed to him walking home from a Bushwick strip club at 4:30 in the morning. (yes he should of knew better) They broke 3 ribs while robbing him and beating him senseless.

He had a tough few weeks, but it healed quicker than he or I thought and he was back causing trouble in two to three weeks.

It was funny as hell for me to make him laugh and watch him in pain.

He hit me in my back a few months earlier and tore my lat muscle which was the most pain I have felt in my life. Laughing, sneezing, coughing and just moving in bed was agony. That took 4 months to heal. I broke his thumb a few weeks later . That's what friends are for.

You'll get better soon. Good luck!

Plan on 2 weeks of pretty intense pain and difficulty getting out of chairs, getting out of bed, breathing, bending over, etc. WHATEVER you do, don't cough, sneeze, laugh or get constipated. I broke a couple and thought I was going to be OK after a couple of days. Then I sneezed and dislodged them a couple days later. WAY worse. Also, depends on how old you are, but yeah, it's incredibly painful. It was absolutely as painful as when I had a broken back. maybe worse. Get a kidney or lifting belt to wrap around you - velcro - like the guys have to wear at home depot. I don't know if it helps, but it reminds you not to do those simple things you forget about that KILL you with intense pain. Feel better.

3 months at least. Get a chest compression bandage(s). Wrap your ENTIRE ribcage daily for 6 months. 3 months for the ribs to heal and 3 months for extra precaution as they'll still be prone to breaking again or, as another poster said, being coughed or sneezed out of place.

There is a new 'treatment' for this and many other maladies... do not smoke cannabis, but procure some cannabis (hash) oil and "eat" 1 gram of it per day. Also a cure for cancer...according to a doctor friend of mine I spoke with at a gig last night. He told various stories about broken bones healing faster, and how Tommy Chong is now 99% cancer free from the treatment. And yes, it can be medically prescribed for those of us who do not wish to break any laws.

Your ribs will still be broke, but you won't give a shit.

Seriously, is there any documentation for that? I'd love to hurt less.

I'm sorry, I really laughed hard at that one! I don't ever wish to laugh at anyone else's calamity but that was quality humor!

Get well soon!

OMG it was the best sneeze I think Iv had in years. Not worth it, I guess you can pop the healings.

PS" I went to buy the BHO tube today to make my honey oil but the head shop said its deadly, I know I can make it but he said his old employee also was an expert before he spent 4 months in the UC Davis burn center for sparking off from a nylon ski jacket that gave off static.

Leaglize it!
