what a shitty day

so digidesign has this thing, where you trade in an mbox or 001 and get a 002 AND music production toolkit for cheap. its a good deal. so i go to guitar center last monday and i trade in my mbox. after 2 hours of calling digi and a whole bunch of other nonsense, we get the order in and it was comming in a week. i got a call on my cell at work aobut how the order was in. i was very excited. i was also treating myself to a pair of bluesky 2.1's, so again, very excited. i get to GC and he gives me my package sent straight from digi. i realized ity said "6.9" which immedietly tipped me off that something bad was gonig to happen. the guy at GC tells me that they are all out of blue skys, but the guitar center about a half hour away has them. so i buy them there, and start my travels to the far away GC.

after an hour of getting lost (the place was in the middle of nowhere), i get to the shop. the employees are so rude and even more unhelpfull. i explain how i bought the 2.1s at the other GC and was picking them up here. they gave me that we dont give a shit face. after a half hour there, they finially, for whatever reason, give me the monitors. now its 1 big ass box. the employee does not help me with it and wont let me take the handtruck out to my van. he actually made me carry it al lthe way out there. i almsot dropped it about 10 times. so i then realize i need something to connect the monitors to the 002. i run back in and as the "pro audio guy" what types of cables i need. he said "balanced 1/4's" in a very sure voice. i buy them and head 45 minutes back home in pouring rain.

i get into my room, and like a 7 year old on christmass morning, i tear into my new gear. what do i see?
- i am given the old model of the 002r. no 7.0, no xpand! and the best part
NO MUSIC PRODUCTION TOOLKIT!!!!!!!!!!! the thing i had to pay extra for was not there!!!!! rememebr, this is STRAIGHT from digi, so this should be the newest software.
- the guy at the 2nd guitar ccenter had me buy the wrong cables! i needde xlr to 1/4 cables.
- i pulled a muscle in my forearm bringing my monitors up the stairs

im now in my room, cursing like its nobodies business. digidesign is closed, and i have work every day till tuesday, so i can't call them to DEMAND a copy of xpand, PT 7.0 (i registered my 002r a few hours ago and surprise, i was not able to download 7.0), and my ****ing music production toolkit. i will refuse to pay any shipping of any kind and demand it be over nighted. im so beyond sick of being screwed over by this company. i have to go back to guitar center (luckally i can go to the one by me) and exchange those cables.

everything looks all nice and cool on my desk, but alas, none of it works/is working to its full potential.

it just sucks when you save up every penny from work and finially blow it on something you are so into...and this shit happens.

Sorry man. Unfortunately that quality of service seems to be the norm with Digidesign. I read stuff like that and truly wish there was something I could do. It sucks.

I'm sure Digi will take care of your issue.
They're pretty attentive when it comes to their LE customers (there are
specific reasons behind this that are rather smart on the business side of things).

The employees at GC are being the a-holes. And that's expected, as being a lowlife chump is a screening pre-requisite for their hiring staff. My suggestion is that you learn from this and never give GC you're money again. Simply put, they have never, don't and never will deserve anyone's money.

Peace.

the guitar center by me is amazing actually. they almsot completely restaffed and the sales repps are awesome. they never ppush anything and are beyond helpfull. this guy who sold me the 002 deal thing spent 2 hours getting it through. sure he gets commission, but he didnt have to go THAT far to get it to work. also, it helps when half the staff are/have been your friends. it just depends on the GC i guess.

Dude, take the cables back to the "cool" GC near you. They'll gladly sell you the right cables and the other store and salesguy will have to take the return.
