As If DIGIDESIGNs website was not shi**y enough...

Digi has re-done their website. Naturally navigating and searching for any info you need has become even more of a task and problematic. the layout is crap. we love you digi.... thanks!

I wonder if Digi did any focus-groups for the new site...

worst website I've seen in awhile. Especially from a company that big.

Sad..some of the important links didn't even work.

What do you expect from a company like Digidesign? They must be using the guys who designed the 001/002's to do the webdesign for them. Im suprised they dont have different sites for HD and LE so the LE site could always be down. That would be another reason for you to need to upgrade.

Yeah right. I only buy stuff from companies with cool websites. Makes my mixes sound better too.

I liked the previous site better. Especially the navigation is rather awkward now. More of a step down than a step up Doesn´t distract me from making music though.

Cheers,
Bill

That would be even dumber than buying something from a company that has sold countless trashy converters over the years....
Do you still need an accel card to run more than 100+ tracks with an HD system? Im curious since just about any computer can do this on its own.

FYI, I was being ironic in my previous post.

I'm just tired of all this Digi-bashing. I don't necessarily agree with Digidesign's business decisions either but the tone of this thread just screams 'frustration' and 'deeper issues at hand' to me.

There's a reason most professional studios are using HD systems. it goes way beyond '100+ tracks' or whatever bells + whistles your free software sports.

I'm also curious to know why Digi's 'horrible' website is such an issue for the posters here who clearly hate Digi's products so much and most likely don't use them either.

I didn´t bash Digi. I just don´t like their new website and think the old one was better. That´s all. Since I wanted to start a thread on that topic before I thought I better chime in here.

I work with Digi HD everyday so that is not my problem. And I really like the workflow and power of Digi systems.

I hope that´s it for now. I don´t need another digi bash thread either.

Te search function seems to bring back results that look the same, and a lot lead to dead pages..

I don't find the new site all that much tougher to negotiate than the old one. If you clikc on "All Products" you are teken to a page that's very similar to the old main product page.

I also find the support pages a little easier to navigate, thanks to the drop down menus. Seems like the pertinent info is a layer or two higher than it used to be.

I agree the new site sucks even more than the old one. Much harder to find info about various products, more hidden steps to get to plug n downloads, generally frustrating & not at all intuitive.
