"Hardcore Music"

i just need to let out a rant about the current metal music scene. its an absolute load of ****. if you aren't going around writing music that isn't "2-step, 2-step, 2-step, breakdown, 2-step repeat" then you aren't going to get listened to because that's what the kids are into these days. what happened to the broad diverse metal scene. everything these days is screamed/shouted/growled lyrics, ridiculously low tuned guitars and then chugging on the lowest string in time with a bass drum that is now EQ'd/triggered to be just a click! its seemed to have took over the generic rise records band (How to get signed to Rise Records!!!1! (original upload) - YouTube) in popularity now and is still increasing.

NB i know this is a generalisation on the current metal scene and there are a lot of bands out there that are different to what i have described it's just there is a few too many of this sort of band around.

thanks for reading!

Could be worse,
If I see another pop punk band with beards and yelling I'm going snap. They're popping up everywhere. Good thing is that once everyone imitates it, they all collectively move on to a new sound and image.

2 step is awesome. Quantize, sample replace, clip'nlimit, collect cash.

Working with a band right now that is staying true to what I call Old School Hardcore.. No Detuned gtrs, Planned Breakdowns or Brick wall limited Gtrs.
Just great energy, raw gtrs and great songs..

You should check out a band called Sylosis, specifically the album "edge of the earth." Modern British metal band, sort of thrashy/proggy. Pristine guitar work, tuned to E standard but riffs are super heavy and a kit that sounds triggered but isn't. They aren't huge, but fairly well known. They give me faith in music.
