My problem is that I have no interest in anyone that I am not involved with in a music project.

I really enjoy the collaborative creative process - but in any other situation or context, I don't want anything to do with others.

100% of my "friends" since adolescence (Im 45) have been people I've made music with. Our friendships have all ended when the project has stopped.

I'm certainly a misanthrope. But i blame it on the human condition. When you look at how our brains are built ( with layers and stratas that got layered through evolution ), we have parts that are constantly in contradiction with each other. We are still nothing but slightly evolved stupid animals.

I've found that whether I hate people or not is directly related to the company I keep.

I've maintained a higher standard circle of friends and found that I didn't hate people as much as I thought.

Frank

Never listen to opinions regarding gear. For every 50 nobodies on Gearslutz that say a piece of gear doesn't sound good enough to cut it, I know at least one somebody who is cutting it in NYC with that piece of gear.

Being of the extremely captious and easy to feel disgusted w/ humans folk, I believe this to be true.

There are hidden gems of humans and they've usually traveled the road of pain and the depth to process it.

But no OP. you're hardly alone.

My state and even better my city is full of people I try to avoid! lol

Florida packs them in for the long haul!!!! Guy so drunk that he needed to drive to get more beer while watching his grandchild; moreover, left the kid in the car while he gets beer, and then on his way out falls off the curb smashing his head on the embankment all while I and many others watch and fear for the child enough to call authorities.... This was September 7th in Tampa, Fl.

I'm full o' hate at the moment.

I feel like the majority of people I come across these days are only interested in ****ing someone pretty and consuming. They only bother with concious thought because they've worked out that's the easiest way to get said ****/food.

Not many people actually seem interested in doing something useful or indeed well. No pride in something they've achieved unless it was a particularly large meal or pretty ****.

Humanity has a lot of catching up to do. Me included.

I'm sure it does. I used to take it back when I was like 21 because I always had panic attacks so this massage therapist had recommended it to me. But again, it's like confirmation bias - I don't know if it worked because it's legit or if I just believed it was going to work!

I'd say take a chance. If you fall asleep, you'll know it worked.

Regards,
Frank

Many of the things i dislike about others are similar to things I don't like about myself. I try not to throw too many stones, they seem have this way of making U-turns. I'd be a hypocrite and not many people appreciate hypocrites, afaik.

I don't hate people, they just hate me. I try to be a nice person and I try to be there for others and help them out in anyway I can when I can, I've come to realise that we live in very selfish times and 9.5 times out of 10 people aren't willing to give me the time that I give them when they need it.That is generally why I work and make music by myself, because I've been let down too many times.

I've worked part time in retail through college for the past 2 years - I hated people before, now I hate them with every bone in my body. It's a wonder how some people even get dressed in the morning.

I am so happy about this thread. For so long I have hated most people bar a small handful of friends (3 to be exact) and my GF. They just don't get it. I'd rather be at home or doing something music related than being in a "club" with a bunch of drunk a-holes... Thank you for making me feel better for hating people.

amen dude! we on the same planet... at home with my headphones or small studio speakers makes me much more happy than a club with some knob stepping on my toes and some stank breath snagle tooth broad trying to get me in her pants! lol

Hahahaha everyone in this thread should have a party where we could all talk about how much we hate everybody. it could be a life changing thing for us all... Or we could all just end up hating each other...

Damon Darkwalker. Are you are a fan of the book Dark Wars by chance? I have to warn you that I may hate you less if so, but we'll find some way to work around that.
