Had a guy who wanted to "share" my hockey equipment for about 3 months once when I was young. Ended up getting mad at me for needing it on the same night and wouldn't talk after that. ha ha

I told him to give me some money so I can make some new ones because it cost about $350 to make the ones I had, but he didn't have the money.

He is permantly off my list of people I will ever deal with. Now, I hear he is playing with a Christian artist that sells music on line without having proper contracts and release forms being signed. go figure.

sad these kinds of bast*rd that can take someone else's property and then claim "no money" are protected by law.

yeah, because it's a pain in the ass to collect the money. Small claims is a pain just to deal with, so I just wrote him off and he'll get it in the end. Scammers always get what's coming to them, unfortunately the victims of their BS don't always get settled financially for their loses.

What's worse is that he and some bass player friend of his are basically conning some rich guy to fuel their recording studio and they are buying all kinds of gear with this other person's money trying to act like they are a record label and I don't even think these idiots have an entertainment lawyer making sure they have the proper contracts and release forms signed off to make the content legal. <DELETED BY MODERATOR>

Depends what they're borrowing. I'd much prefer clients to borrow the studio's tuned, nice instruments than use their own crap ones... Lots of stories about that with drum kits

...
Obviously this situation isn't about that, though

Not that kind of borrowing... If i'm not mistaken we're talking about people actually taking stuff out of the place to use it elsewhere, not people who use the studio's equipement in the actual studio.

And they're all reborn Christians thinking they are forgiven for their sins. Yeah, right. Commit a crime, ask Jesus for forgiveness? What's THAT about? Jesus forgives criminal behavior when they leave a victim without restitution? Don't get me started on that rant. That's a BIGGIE.

If I were you and knew where this studio is I would go right in there and jack $350 worth of gear.

I've been in the same boat, buying stuff before clients paid for it or lending things out never to see them again or returned in damaged condition. Never again...

They should get some t-shirts that say "Jesus is my Lawyer".

I would never lend out anything not even to a good friend. Ill let them use it wherever they need it but I'm handling my gear. I agree with taking $350 worth of gear from them. Isn't that how we get our freedom? I bet you could even try reporting them to the city that they are running a business without a license and that they are using downloaded software without licenses. Proof or not they'd get investigated.

I just let my friend borrow THREE guitars.
He tuned and intonated all of them for letting him use one for 2 weeks.

In two weeks he is going to tune two more for "Rent" charge.

I feel pretty happy!
