corporate studios?!

hey everyone here in the moan zone-thanks for being such a great online family..

i have a question-

is there such a thing as a studio thats run in a corporate fashion?
like EMI was back in the 60s??
how would i go about applying to start as an intern somewhere
and hope and pray that i advance that fancy corporate ladder?

how does someone go about landing an internship with atlantic records? sony? etc. etc.
just mere questions--i'd just like to know how someone gets those kind of jobs?

The Hit Factory shut down. There is a branch in Miami (Criteria), but it's not quite the same as the NY studio.
To me, it was the greatest studio in the world Their list of albums/artists was sur-real.

There are still some great studios in NYC. I'm sure some of the locals will chime in on what's left up there.

The building is still there. Studios 3,4,6 and 7 are being used by Gibson as demonstration, offices and practice rooms. MTI is still on the 2nd floor, and the rest of the floors were gutted and turned to condos. But as we were told at the executives meeting; "The Hit Factory" sign will still remain on the front of the building. I almost laughed when that was told to us - Hey, you're all losing your job, but the sign will still stay here.
