| Yeah, and the average itunes user/listener doesn't know about it either. What a fantastic development for those of us who are involved in the profession of proper recording and reproduction of sound. Thanks Steve.

Maybe I'm in the minority, but I would never burn anything using iTunes that would be for critical listening. Don't know that it matters, but I feel like somehow it's messing with the audio even when everything is off.

Thread Starter | It is! Even with EQ off you can hear small differences. Strange thing. Critical listening is reserved for DAW from now on.

yeah unfortunately, iTunes sound enhancer(eq) is on by default. I always have it turned off& if you update you need to go back & turn off again. I agree with other posters, I wouldn't use iTunes for burning CD's *a bit ot tip: recently I found out bitperfect is now in the app store for $4.99 It replaces the iTunes playback sound engine and really improves the sound, immensely! If you listen to music via iTunes this is a real $4.99 bargain! The difference in clarity is enormous.

What are we to make of the iTunes EQ anyway? It's never made any sense to me. |
