| this, i lost my fiance and gf of many years to my my addiction. luckily she's back now that i'm sober but losing her plus multiple seizures from withdrawal didn't make a difference until i was ready to do it. Quote: |
If she really loves you she will quit the drugs .
| good luck with that logic, it didn't work for me or most other addicts i know

As one poster said. Help her but only if she is prepared to seek professional help. If she is not truly serious about getting off this shit you need to get out now

Help her. That's what we're all here for, right? To help each other out.
Have the will to stay off the drugs like you are now, I'm hoping. Nothing like company to fuel an addiction.

You're in a no-win situation while she's on it. I have first hand experience on this matter. If you can "save" her, you might have a chance, but even then, working with your girlfriend on music is a huge challenge in itself.
And some people just can't be helped.
If I were you I'd get another girlfriend.

Ummmm needle drug, dirty needles, desperation, doing anything to get high, a$$ up on a dirty matress much?
I wouldn't even put a band aid on that girl... You're beggin' for "it" to fall off in the shower aren't ya?
Why in the h-e-double hockey stick would you mess around with a junker? There are heaps of GOOD women out there!

I know a person who was a hard core addict. He fired up downers with his mom, wow they were a twisted family. She eventually committed suicide n front of him one night before he came and played a band job with us. He was one of the most incredible guitar players I've ever seen live and I've worked with some pretty big names.
We spent many years together playing in bands but finally I had to get away from him, he went very far down the CRACK hole and I don't play that. He was carrying a gun, had "hoes" selling his wares and it goes on and on, very hard core. Last time I saw him was in about 1991.
I honestly thought he probably died but recently we reconnected on the internet. It turns out a couple of years after I last saw him he met a woman who changed his life. She got him to quit using and he's been sober for 12 years now. The two of them got married three years ago.
He is back playing guitar in some jazz groups. Miracles do happen.

A success story. Have you thought of contacting him to see how he is?

It is a very difficult decision to make. Leave her when she's at her most vulnerable or stay and watch her disintergrate and possible drag you down as well.

RIP oweng.
I barely knew you
your posts were a bit like reading poetry
but kind of bad poetry
to take advice or not to take advice
this is the question
you will fix computers in greener fields
maybe with a heroin addict, maybe not

I've never met a junkie that could be helped, even to the point of death. That sh*t you see in Requim for a Dream is very real and it saddens me when younger folks cite it as their favorite movie. Even if they only enjoy the tragedy aspect it's still just too much for me personally. If Jared Leto's character was real he'd use his other arm. Enough said.

I say help her, but be prepared for some seriously rough days ahead. If you can help her, wouldn't that be something special?

I thought meth and crack killed teeth. Unless one shoots up in their gums. Know your drugs!

Self preservation should be the highest priority for any animal .
You won't change her , she will change you (in some way or another) .
Get the fek away , before you are robbed , arrested , stabbed , get hepB or aids .
I don't understand how you can ask this question , anything other than leaving this woman is vying for the Darwin award .

I have not been loved
Fixing Gearslutz' computers
And so I must go
My time is best spent
Hanging around with junkies
They like me better
They can spend their nights
Fixing in my studio
While I record them
I like to believe
They are all great geniuses
Shooting up their veins
But I'm just confused
Because I like to join in
And have sex with them
