Mackie (It's a shame)

Hey,

I need to get this off my chest, it's not really for me but all the poor souls on the Mackie Forums that have bought interfaces and still, a year later can't use it because there drivers don't work right.

Now read this from one of the Mod's / Mackie technical team..

Quote:
Recently several unproductive posts as well as those containing links to online petitions have been removed. As a professional audio interface manufacturer and provider, it is our continued commitment to develop new and improved driver and/or control panel software for our current audio interface products, which includes implementing valuable user feedback collected from our forums and Tech Support avenues. Continued development is not something that is executed because it is prompted by threats or online petitions, but rather because it is necessarily component of providing reliable products in a market segment dependent upon retaining and improving functionality with unpredictable 3rd party computer hardware. To that end, user reports containing system information, use case and user experience are consistently referred to in our ongoing development. Meanwhile, online petitions and anecdotal posts merely clutter this information, are distracting to us as a dedicated developer, and are off-putting to our user community who visit our forums primarily to seek assistance from other users. In the interest of maintaining our user community on the whole, we invite you to use our forum where you may continue to share any technical difficulties you are having, and engage other users for assistance.
Why should it ever get to petitions and threat's? Sort out your products and work with PEOPLE... I said on your forum Mackie, take a leaf out of Steven slate, Allen and heath, Prism etc. etc. there support is second to none..

If you haven't seen the Mackie forums, check them out.. But it is a depressing read and a user called Mike is the guy that helps them out..

People say, you should contact Mackie directly.. Which you should, still it may take a week or so for them to get back to you.

Oh and even there drivers can't be downloaded because the links are down.

Hi,
I have a lot of trouble with my Mackie onyx820i since Lion. bought a new macpro, and no choice, it's Lion.

since, crazy and random problems with firewire connection, Out of tune " test tone" ( tests with guitars tuners ), like a bad sample rate, lost connection with inreface, clik and pops etc .....

(no third party plug in, just the built in test tone of Live)

my DAW is Ableton Live

I m French, sorry but I m not sure to understand perfectly this thread.
I ' m suprised to be the only one having troubles with mackie 's driver....

No answer from mackie....
Ableton quickly answered.

waiting for mackie to move. next gig saturday, don't want to go on staage with such a ' dangerous ' set....

It's all fine, I understand you perfectly

I doubt you are the only one, just look at how many people had issues with the blackjack on Windows...

Just look at the forums and it's just littered with issues, My mixer had a PSU fail on it.. But I have to admit apart from that it's been pretty good, luckily enough I don't have to deal with Mackie much..
