Thread Starter | Can't find any shop that has some Avid HD 's in Stock in Europe !!!
I bought a bundle with an HD Native card + 1x Avid HD I/O 16 analog, + a second Avid HD I/O 16 analog (about 9500 euros !!) , to get 32 I+32 O in one mac pro with my HD3 accel and the HD Native with Logic pro in another one but before i ordered and paid, i asked when i would be delivered and they said maximum , before the end of 2011 but i still haven't got anything (whereas i paid everything already !!) and they are not even able to say (Avid) if anything has been sent or when it will be delivered ...
I think it's really not serious , especialy as i asked the Shop when they would be able to deliver before i ordered and paid , so they phoned Avid to be sure they would deliver on time !
i know the seller in that shop, i worked there about 10 years ago and while i was working at 44.1 ( one of the biggest audio pro companies in France in the 90's) , he was working at AKAI and i was often in contact with him as i was in charge of all the post production work stations like AKAI DD1500 or Fairlight , so i know the guy isn't telling me some bullshit !! lol
I'm in France and before i ordered from that shop (which is one of audio Pro shops in Paris that has been opened for many years and that seems to be working correctly compared to some others which closed down), i took a look in all the other well known Audio Pro shops in Paris/France, as well as at Thomann.de in Germany or Musikstore (I would advise to do not work with Musikstore, they are not serious at all compared to Thomann, in my experience at least ) in Germany as well but none of them had any Avid HD i/o's interface in stock; NONE of them !!!!
I would like to buy a third one (if ever i get delivered one day of the 2 other one + HD Native i already paid !!) but i really think it's a mess to order from them and that they don't seem to care about customers whereas we're not talking about peanuts or 200$ Sounblaster audio card but a 9500 euros system ( without even speaking of the HD3 Accel pcie still sold 10 000 euros at Thomann + 2x mac pro computers 8 core : about 8000 euros .... or the third Avid HD I/O i might order if they hurry up delivering the ones i already paid , or the Avid Sync HD i willl buy as well, the plug-ins , etc ...) !!!
That's really not professional as i need to make several tests, among other things, to be sure the system will work and to be able to sell my previous one ( i won't sell it before beeing sure everything works perfectly as it should ...) , especialy as the shop phoned Avid, to ask them when trhey would be able to deliver ...
that's no good to lie to the customers and put them into trouble because they just think about money !!
I'm really angry at Avid for that !

i am also waiting on a PTNative + 16 i/o bundle. seems there was more demand for that converter than avid anticipated. my dealer tells me a shipment is on its way to him now.

I can understand they didn't anticipate the demand but why tell the customers who ask if the gear is available and tell them they will have it very soon, when it is not available ?
When you buy such a system, you plan to do things with it and also to make some tests before using it in sessions ...
I also would like to compare that system with a Lynx aurora system and i had organized everything to do it ...

Sincerly, i think it's a shame to announce some new hardware is available , make the professional sell their previous gear to buy some Avid after asking about delivery time for the gear and once you're in the process and you have ordered , then nobody is able to tell you where is the gear you bought nor when it will be delivered !!
I never saw that before !
I paid everything before even getting the first piece of gear ( 9500 euros !!!) and now Avid France is unable to give the least info about that order (and some other ones !) !
The shop told me they are ok to refund my money , i don't know what to do !!
That's really not professional to behave like that; Avid, true to themselves !!

I'm pretty certain FX in London has them...we've got a couple on hire at the moment, and had no problems buying some.

That's strange I ordered a bunch of stuff including a Native HD with 16x16 just before Christmas all arrived just inside the New Year. I got it from Studio Creations. I know the next batch of HDX isn't due till late Jan/early Feb, but Hd Native shouldn't be an issue or HD i/o's for that matter, you'd have thought. In fact reading your post you ordered before me by the sounds of it.
In fact a friend of mine ordered a HD Native + 16x16 in January and he definately picked it up last week.
I'd chase your dealer. We're in the UK, but we're still in the EU (at the moment !!!)

I'm not in UK, i'm in France !
I verified with many Audio Pro shops here in paris and none of them has some in stock.
I saw Thomann doesn't have any in stock either.
I wanted to order from Thoman in Germany but when i phoned them and asked about ordering those interfaces, i didn't get the type of contact i had hope for that type of expensive purchase, so i decided to try in Paris as some Shops were offering the same prices.
Also, i have been told by someone i know, working in an audio pro shop, that he sent a friend of hilm to Thomann to buy some Avid hardware recently as he didn't have it in stock but he told me his friend had the same type of problem with Thomann , that i do have now !
I thought it might not be a bad idea to order from a French distributor for that type of expensive purchase, so as i know this shop and also as they told me (after they phoned Avid France) i would be delivered before the end of december 2011 , i decided to order from them but i was far from thinking i would still have nothing on the 16th of january and not even know when i would be delivered !!
I told the guy i would phone on thuesday and if my order has not been delivered, i might cancel my order and buy from somewhere else !
I might buy one (as a third one) in USA or UK and if i don't get the ones i ordered in France very soon, i will buy them and the HD Native there too i think !
I' m fed up waiting like that not even knowing where is the geari bought whereas i already paid everything !!!
I'm really angy , especialy to do not even know whaty's going on, if teh gear has been shipped or when it will be delivered !!

I had phoned Thomann in Germany before i ordered in France and they could not give me a delivery time !
I just phoned them once again today, they have several Avid interfaces in order that haven't been delivered and they have had no answer from Avid (Europe it seems ) for at least a week , to tell them if the interfaces are available or not !
So, if Thomann is in this situation, i suppose several shops/ companies all over Europe might have the same problem !

I will ask in UK, like Pro Audio /Funky Junk or Studio Exchange, to know if they have some available...
It seems they don't have some in stock ( i phoned) ...
I emailed them (they asked me to email them as they could not give me the infos before asking Avid i suppose )
to know how much time they ask to deliver some but haven't had an answer yet.

I live in downtown paris. Try dv247.fr and try to contact "Mehani" at the sale department. If you drop me a pm I can give you his personal email address. I bought a complete production setup (20.000 plus euros) for in my apartment. C24 protols 19, converters etc etc the whole lot. Delivery very fast and excellent service.
