Thread Starter | dv247 uk muppets (Ok maybe not so much..)
I ordered about 1.3k of audio gear from dv247 over christmas, including a pair of genelec speakers. When they arrived they where not a matching set, one was black and one was grey/silver. I'm not the most visual guy but if I'm going to be looking at a pair of speakers for the foreseeable future I'd like them to at least match. so I contact dv247 and fair enough they say they will replace the silver one, I get an email from them on the third saying they have someone coming to collect the speaker and if I'm not there to hand it over I'll have to pay.. so I stay in all day and no one shows up. Ok I'm pissed at this point, I email them saying that no body showed up and if they can order the speaker to the bristol store I'll go and exchange them on a saturday as I now have to go back to work. apparently the returns people are incapable of ordering the speaker to the bristol store because they are only web returns and I'll have to wait between dropping the old speaker off and picking up the new one. and according to them DPD don't deliver on saturdays. Which they do as they have done several times to my house. When I questioned them on this apparently they do but it costs more. I've canceled the rest of my order, including the phono cables they apparently didn't have in stock, seriously which ******* major retailer of audio gear doesn't keep ******* phono cables in stock. (incidentally found everything cheaper from a local/online store) Anyway I heartily recommend never purchasing anything from that bunch of incompetent muppets.

Wow, sorry to hear about this. I use DV all the time, never had a problem. Shame some plonker can't tell the difference between black and silver ![]() I'm surprised DPD screwed up as they're usually excellent as well. Hope the other shop provide you with what you want

I t wasn't so much the fact they they screwed up the order and then screwed up picking it back up, everybody makes mistakes. It's the fact they they have been so unhelpful about it. Like why they are refusing to order the replacement speaker to the store so I don't have to make two trips a week apart? apparently they can't because I'm only dealing with web returns. I'm seriously tempted to take back both speakers and shop at chemical records instead. |

Hi psykx, We're sorry to hear that you had a problem with your recent order. We'd like to investigate this situation further to try to provide you with a satisfactory resolution. Would it be possible for you to email your order details to feedback@dvmusic.com and a brief description of the issues you have experienced and our customer service team will investigate and respond. Best regards Gavin |

I've used DV247 loads and have had no issues - in fact they've been very helpful on the one or two occasions I've dealt with them. Can't say the same about Dolphin Music - I had no end of issues with them, order after order... |

Used DV247 a few times. Normally ok but on the odd occasion that somethings been out of stock (even though the website said it was in stock!) I've normally had to wait a while, chasing things up on the phone to find out an e.t.a. etc. Bit of a pain.

I got an email from gavin james, despite the fact that I didn't see his post on this thread. He apologised even though he wasn't directly involved in the matter and he offered me free speaker stands and iso pads to go with them. Which is a very generous offer I have, hopefully graciously, accepted. I have to say although obviously everybody likes free stuff, I really am impressed with the service I have eventually received. |

Messed up one of my orders by sending me wrong cables. Couldn't be bothered to kick up the fuss, more hassle than its worth.. How can they get that bit wrong tho even maplin can't screw that up. Your thing sounds similar to a friend's of mine who ordered 1500 pounds worth of gear from htfr, half of it turned up broken the other half didn't turn up. I will never ever use htfr. Sent from my HTC Desire using Gearslutz.com

Just picked up the replacement genelec... three weeks after my original order and it's the wrong colour, labeled black actually grey. I'm utterly stunned how much effort this is.

It's a real shame about your monitors - sounds like a complete pain in the arse. DV247 are unit-shifters. Prices are aggressively low, but at what cost to customer service? I would always rather forget about trying to find the cheapest deal and just go with someone I can rely on. DV247 have never matched up to my expectations, so I simply shop with the one or two outlets I feel are reliable. |

They're not that cheap IMO, I was having a look at a mixer, US made. B&H - 749 USD dv247 - 695 dongs! And a Mic B&H - 479 USD dv247 - 522 dongs! You do the math.. If you are buying on the internet then it should be cheap right?? |

I use Dv247 all the time and the only time an order didn't go exactly to plan was when I had to wait for about a month and half to get a bass guitar I ordered. But I wasn't really complaining seeing as it was £400 cheaper than everywhere else.

Mishaps happen. Sorry for your experience. I had the utmost attention given to me when I ordered from them. I mean like really good communication. I hope they resolve it! Their 4 year warranty is some serious commitment! |

Having a bad experience with them right now... ordered a microphone and a boom mic stand over a week ago to get some recording done this weekend just gone. I was e-mailed to be told both items were out of stock, which is fair enough, it happens. So i called them up and asked to switch to a different mic, which also turned out not to be in stock, but they told me it would be back in stock in a few days, which means i would get a mic in time to record as planned, which is why i decided to switch to another mic, i needed one desperately for the weekend. Then after they take the extra money for the microphone, i recieve an e-mail saying the microphone i changed it too won't be in stock till after January... So this won't do, so i e-mail to cancel the order but hear nothing back. I call the company and they say it's sorted and i've been refunded, the money just hasn't gone in yet. Four days later still no money, so looks like i'm calling up again tomorrow if it's still not in. Had to order the mic from somewhere else meaning i'm currently double the money down i wanted to be. Edit: The money's just gone in, so overall not a terrible experience but still slightly let down, but i'll probably still try them again. |

Spend more then over 20grands at those muppets and all what I can say that I hab never but never had any problems with payments, delivering, warranty and returns... And I live in France Paris. Ups for "Mehani" at sales... Not even the "pro" shops here in Paris can handle it like him.

Hi, Just for the record, I live in Spain and have bought many things from DV247 UK and never had a single issue (well, actually yes: once something arrived broken and was replaced straight away with no problems at all). Sorry you had a bad experience with them. Cheers, byk |

Why don 't you guys all order from BHphotovideo its like 30-50% cheaper and if you add VAT and shipping you'll still come out on top usually 20%. I order lots of stuff from the UK too but lets just say dv247 aint one of the places. Not even close to cheap imo. Maybe cheaper than in your home countries but thats ot saying a lot here is it..

Just like to let you all know that everything has been sorted out, I have two back speakers and some complimentary speaker stands to make up for all the trouble. I really would consider buying from dv247 again.
