people use your ears!

I can't believe the amount of stupid people on this great forum of gearslutz that ask stupid ass questions about every little thing. The biggest one (what plugin should I use)
You shouldn't you should sell all you gear and go live in a hole. (My vocals are dry) then do something, have you ever heard of reverb or delay or EQ or Compression, O is there a plugin for that. YES ITS CALLED MIXING use you ears and your head. If you have no ears take you head, and slam it in to the wall a few time.

That's funny - I was just thinking how few self-rightious bozos hang out here, berating people to stop wanting to learn about audio and mixing.

Most of the amazing and successful people I've known and worked with in music have been incredibly generous with their knowledge, and I like to think I'm as generous when someone with less knowledge asks me a question. There are a lot of long time contributors here who share both great knowledge and great patience.

Mixing takes a long time to learn and is difficult for a lot of people (aside from you obviously), but it's hard to begrudge them for doing some homework...

I take it that you mix exclusively and thus don't perform your own edits.

I have nothing against people wanting to learn more about audio. I do my own edits, Record ,Edit, Mix, etc. etc. thank you. I teach audio and my local college, and love it. I just wish people would listen to the music alittle more and stop thinking a plugin in is the answer to everything. I don't answers questions that don't interest me and I try to help people that I can. I'm just saying that some times it just takes good old fashion musicianship and nice sounding instruments and some good mic technique. Boy people here are sensitive this is the moan zone right.

I have seen in person top of the line mix guys, ask around about new plugs.

I don´t think wanting to know about gear you are not familiar with, be it plugs.. or EQ´s or whatever.. makes you more or less stupid or experienced.

There is always a smartass who thinks they know better.

Re: people use your ears!

My 2 cents if I may.

1: For someone who "claims" to teach audio at a local community college, your grammar seems to be at a 3rd grade level.

2: We are all here for the same reason and that is to gain additional knowledge and possibly pass some knowledge on to others.

Maybe someday you'll be a big boy and grasp that concept and not belittle others.

people use your ears!

I liked the title.

Seemed to go downhill from there, though.

Oh, and People should be capitalized, professor.

Like this:

People, use your ears!

a well-timed typo, imo. just put an apostrophe in front of the "hole" and you'll catch my drift.
