| more data points
more data points: - in all situations all of the people I know, myself included, had high alcohol content when the onset happened - in the most recent situation I was out with friends at a not so loud event drinking, suddenly she had a headache so we left and pow... - if I go out drinking at a club and get dehydrated I get the sweeping siren sounds. I'm telling ya, it sounds exactly like a frequency sweeping feedback loop lc

| but fortunately
The Ashley Protea 3.6SP speaker processor, 12KW of QSC amps, 6 touring class 18" drivers arrived and I hit the simulation design goal of 140dB at 30Hz in under 600 liters per cabinet with two cabinets. Just have to machine some wood and it's neighbor hater time! z0t! LC! |

I have tinnitus in my right ear. I've had it I think for about 12 years. I blame it on loud subway rides, loud sound engineering classes!!!!!!, and listening to music loudly on headphones while mixing my tunes. My tinnitus sounds like a car engine revving up and down in the background at irregular periods and rates. It's totally unpredictable. Other times it sounds less like an engine or car idling and more like a low moan. Either way, I can't sleep when I hear it. The first few months that I started having it, I actually thought it was real sounds I was hearing. Then I started sleeping with earplugs and noticed the sound was still there even if everything else was quiet and if no other sound-generating devices was around for miles. What a rude wakeup call. All I can say is... 1) avoid ototoxic drugs. find out which drugs you are taking and if they might be ototoxic. such drugs are literally poisonous for your hearing. so avoid them. 2) don't drink, and don't smoke, and don't do illegal drugs 3) avoid a high salt diet 4) eat a balanced diet. some forms of tinnitus are linked to vitamin deficiencies 5) wear earplugs to sleep at nightthis will help your auditory brain and nerves rest and will possibly reduce some of the tinnitus 6) avoid stress 7) don't sleep or rest with your head turned, this can cut off circulation or eustachian tubes to your ears and cause complications 8) avoid stuff that causes allergies (use hypoallergenic biodegradable organic soaps and cleansers. This will also reduce your risk of cancer!) 9) bring earplugs at all times in case you need them, especially airlines and car trips. 10) avoid noisey places. A lot of noise is just plain abuse and is not needed. DONT GO THERE in the first place! 11) don't use loud appliances (coffee grinders, leaf blowers, lawn mowers, even loud showerheads) these can all damage or worsen your hearing 12) spend time in silent places whenever you can. it will help relax you and give your whole auditory system some welcome rest. Pure silence is rare. enjoy it if you can!
