| Lives for gear | I had the worst friday ever ... lots of stress and to top it off, I had an "accident" with my GF. It slipped. Damn. We ran to the pharmacy and bought the day-after pill. 89% effectiveness. TOO LOW I really, really don't want a kid. I am really stressed. Unfortunately, all "planned parenthood" clinics around are closed for the weekend. I was reading about the "Copper IUD" being 99% effective as emergency contraceptive. I'm paranoid, so it seems worth it. But it's expensive, too. Anyone got any good/bad experiences with emergency contraception?

| Just stay calm man, everyone slips every once in a while. It'll probably be all good with the first pill or whatever. I feel your pain though |

| Don't stress, If I recall correctly the quoted effectiveness in medication does account for mistakes and ommissions in actually taking it it correctly. if your GF swalled it and kept it down the effectiveness is somewhat higher greets OMF

| Lives for gear | I really didn't want a kid... But the whole "trying to have a kid" thing was pretty convincing. For three weeks... Then she left that little "plus sign" thing on the sink... Three lousy weeks... But yeah, I wouldn't trade it for a really, really great compressor at this point. Not even a great compressor and a great EQ.

| Lives for gear | The possibilities she is pregnate are very very very low man. The day after pills are strong stuff. It´s like taking 4 of the regular birth control pills in one shot. I look at it this way.. the probabilities of getting a girl pregnate if you ¨slip¨many many times in a month with no birth control whatsoever is still low. Add to that the day after pill, and bro.. I can guarantee you .. you are safe. I have had a few of these in my life and dude, I feel your pain. It´s a disaster of a time. Specialy if you don´t love the girl. This shit messed up my brain. Don´t let this get to you or you will end up traumatized for life or until you meet your wife. Be careful next time, have her take regular birth control pills and use a condom, the shit you are going through right now is not worth it.

| Lives for gear | Thanks to all. Yup, I'm a little bit less stressed, but still I'm thinking about the Copper IUD thingie. I'm 23 man!!! I still have some girls to meet to decide who will be my wife (if any). Well, I hope everything turns all right. I hope this doesn't kill me ![]() Some time ago I read that a kid costs around $150,000 until he/she turns 18. That'll buy some nice Langevins and some other gear for sure!!! Well, I'm sure a kid would be wonderful. But NOT right now. Especialy if I'm not 100% sure about the girl. |

Best case, you'll shit water until her next period. Worst case, you'll have to think about how to realign your priorities with a child factored in (assuming you decide to proceed with the pregnancy - no opinion from me there). I have two young kids and I can tell you that it's a huge amount of work but hugely rewarding. I find that I'm a much better person and happily rise to the challenges of parenting. I'm also looking forward to teaching my boys about music, hoping that they'll get the same enjoyment from it that I do. Of course, being a total gear slut, I can see that brand new SSL sitting in their college funds... Good luck either way, but don't stress over it. It is what it is, as they say.

| Immediacy is a big part of morning after pill as well. If she took the pill within 24 hours of the "event" then you're in much better shape.... the pill is increasingly less effective the longer you wait to take it --- up until 72 hours I believe. We're sendin you good vibes. I think you'll be OK! |

She wouldn't mind tying me to her for the rest of her life DANGER!Ok, we'll see if this stuff works, she is a guinea pig now. Thanks for the good vibes to all! I need them!

| This might be a little too personal, but when is her next period due? If you know that, you will have a better idea of how much of a chance there is of her being pregnant. There is a better chance of her being pregnant if she has two weeks until her next period is due. If she's due in 3 weeks or one week, then you should most likely be ok. |

| Lives for gear | I think it was week 1 of her period. (I think ... on tuesday/wednesday she stopped bleeding, but the bleeding lasted like 4 days). The accident was on Friday of the same week. |

| You better hope she never reads this thread to know that you may not see her as a potential wife. Otherwise, your chance of slipping again ever may be ZERO (when u cant get her to answer the phone) |

| Lives for gear | Good news!!! Period finally came ... a BIT late (3 days ago), but normal. Wow, this month was nightmarish, I felt like the world was ending. I couldn't concentrate on my classwork (I think I might fail one class) but it was crazy ... Plus, a preg test came out negative. So ... I'm free! Someone move this to the good news channel! Thanks to all for your kind words and support ... ![]() |
