Thread Starter | (one more)Audio Junkie Alert
Hi to all the members of gearslutz.
In January Ive' paid for a rack with 2 compressors to this guy and he promised to deliver it in 3 weeks, after almost 6 weeks of waiting and reading some posts from gearslutz members, 10 days ago I've started a Paypal's Buyer Complaint Process against Sam G. which I won today.
Paypal refund me £165.07 GBP of £1,149.00 GBP because this guy did not have sufficient funds in his PayPal account to cover the refund.
Please, please be aware of this guy, his real name is Samuel Glossop, he is an unscrupulous con man, his "company" is called Audio junkie, I hope paypal refunds me the rest of my money. In the mean time I'm gonna make sure that ever single producer and engineer knows about this guy and his effort to steal other's people money and time.
This was my fault because I should read all the gearslutz posts about this man but now I just want to let you know that this guy made a bad business with me too!!!
Best regards.
Armando Avila

| Here's the thing...
First, I can't believe I'm coming close to defending Sam, since I'm the one who is out THE most and for the longest...don't EVEN ask how much I ordered from him and how long ago BUT...
The thing is, it's not like he is a total rip-off artist, otherwise he would have disappeared. With that said, he's not running his buisness very well and looks like if he doesn't start delivering, he'll find himself with no business or worse, jail time.
BUT, the guy is a one man operation with Cyrcil from Raindirk helping him and HE is a legitimate guy with serious skills, so my only comfort to you is that I'm in the same boat in a BIG way and the guy isn't some vanishing act...that said, he best deliver!

At this point, it's pretty certain that Audiojunkie/Sam G won't be receiving any more orders from the Gearslutz crew until he delivers on the late orders that have been posted lately. So I'd imagine he's trying to get it together.
It's either that or pack it in and head to Aruba. I hear the law is pretty lax down there.
tutt
P.S. - That was a joke Sam. Please don't take it the wrong way. FWIW I think the racks look really cool. However, I won't be ordering one for some time, if ever.

I dont know what sam's skills are... And certainly have NO IDEA WHY raindirk are working with him after years of complaints.
BUT he has a serious attitude problem and is by far the rudest 'professional' i ve ever encountered.
But seriously try and have a chat with him i dont think the skills / knowledge go far.

After all is said and done, bad business is bad business. No matter how great the skills of that person may be, if he/she is taking money from people without delivering the goods, they have no right being in business. There is no excuse for taking peoples hard earned money. I hate scammers

Sticky. plz. | I believe Jules explanation was something like: This is a forum about gear. He has no resources of policing dealers, weeding thru truth from unfair accusations.
Or something to that effect.
I mean, there IS a possibilty that the people complaining about Audiojunkie is competitors trying to drive him out of buisness. If not this time, how about the next time? I'm not calling anyone a liar but making this a sticky would lead to an impossible situation for Jules. Who's right and who's wrong?

And are who YOU jupiter8?
Moderators....
Its really lame what happens to internet approximations of 'democracy'. The geekiest tiniest amount of power gained by anyone, succumbs to its tiny geeky form of corruption.
Another slagg-sam post gets hidden.
sad sfuuck ds.
I always though its suspicious why sam is supported by raindirk, now i know i was right.

Well, who am i ? That is a valid question i guess. Although i am rather hesitant of revealing my "real life" identity,i can say this much.I live in Sweden and i study Computer Science. I'm pretty old for being a student. I did have a small recording studio a while back but don't anymore. So i guess i am not a "true" gearslut. But the subject interest me a lot and have done so for many years.
And i can tell you this,i have no connection to AudioJunkie in any kind or form.Or noone else on this forum for that matter.I could PM you my cell nr. if you want to talk with me in person although i don't see what that would accomplish.
This is just a case where i saw a question that i had the answer for.As simple as that.He wanted to know why this post was'nt a stickie and i anwered it.
I do agree that it might seem suspiscious that mr 5 posts comes to mr AudioJunkies defence. But if you read my post you see that i really did'nt. http://gearslutz.com/board/showthread.php3?t=64383
Read Jules post in this thread. That is what i am referring to.
FWIW i'd be more than a little hesitant myself to do buisness with AudioJunkie myself. But that was'nt the point.
Peace. |

Hi, thanks for move my post here.
I just want to know why if Fletcher says something really bad about Universal Audio or Pelluso mics, nobody takes out his posts or move them to a place that nobody care.
Well such is life, I don't feel any support from our moderators on this subject.
Thank you.
Armando Avila www.cosmosproducciones.com
P.S. I don't sell any kind of audio gear and Im not Audiojunkie's competence.

P.S. I don't sell any kind of audio gear and Im not Audiojunkie's competence. | Hey brother Armando......I am sincerely sorry to hear that you are yet another victim of Audio Junkie. What a waste of peoples time.
As for the moderating here on GS, they have thier legitimate reasons... don't let it get you down.
You have a ton of excellent people who care about each other and help each other out.
I promise to be a voice to at least warn folks about Audio Junkie on your behalf...and if I can do anything for you here in the USA (Austin Texas) please don't hestitate to PM me... consider it done.

Wouldn't it be the guy who continues to hurt people? Steal thier money and hard earned time?
As for being a 'competitor'? That is a serious stretch.... (although brother Armando does own more gear...vintage and otherwise than Audio Junkie has ever sold in his lifetime.
...Audio Junkie has a proven record for stealing from people and occasionally coming through on a project. Brother Armando has a history of building his clientelle and studio up the old fashioned way...through hard work and honesty. Could be, there is no witch hunt around this and it is based on just the fact that Audio Junkie steals peoples money.
There is a long line of folks who are 'waiting for thier money back'. Conspiracy? |

| Problem is
Gearslutz.com is not:
A police blotter or "wanted" list
A justice tool - or a vigilante group - (try instead the police or FBI) www.fixdealsgonebad.com www.bullshitdetectors.com
We cant take on "deals gone bad" as priority news items in the regular forums
When -
We haven't got all the facts,
Don't know all sides of disputes
We haven't got a skilled investigation department.
This is what Jules wrote in the other "Audiojunkie thread.
I do know who Armand Vila is. And i do know that Audiojunkie has a hrrmmm somewhat tarnished reputation.
I'd probably should have wrote "If not this guy, what about the next guy".
As i said, i'd be more than a little hesitant to spend my money on his services.
If i think AJ is a croock or if it is fair or not to move this thread is irrelevant.
I was merley replying to why this isn't a stickie. Someone asked,i replied. That's all.
Peace. |

Well Audiojunkie did address these people in a thread. And commented that he'd try to get the stuff out. That should pretty much prove that they are customers and not competitors. They paid for a product they never got, that's complete bullsh*t and I'm just about to make it my goal to let as many people know about this guy as possible. In the last two days I've lost a ton of respect for this forum. I know that doesn't mean much because, who am I, but I really thought this was a place where people could come to for help, not pushed out the door and told to shut up.

The.. challenge...is...at what point does the forum 'step in'?
After one person has a bad experience?..After two people? 10, 20?
And does the forum 'step in' for every single business transaction that goes south?
Since there is no possible way to come up with parameters for this... it is not possible to help the greater good without also affecting the greater good. It is a lose-lose. Alot of innocent people would have to suffer a temporary scarring' by some pissed off customer...regardless if it was warranted or not.
Our best solution is word of mouth... peer to peer communication.
So...in all reality the only logical and practical thing this forum can do is...stay out of the way and let each other help each other.
The forum cannot intervene...and it can't be anyone's personal soapbox either.
However...we do need a method by which we can communicate our experiences and it appears that the 'moan zone' is as good of an idea as any.
It is just important to be clear 'why' something is handled a certain way, Otherwise it could appear (as it does now) that the forum does not support it's members. When in reality, it's members are the most important thing.
Much Respect,

-a | That's truly shocking man, you really have my sympathies.
Do have any relations or good friends in the UK? If so, you could sign the debt over to them, and they could apply for a CCJ.
Here's a link: https://www.moneyclaim.gov.uk/csmco2/index.jsp
Drop me a PM or email if you need any advice from someone over the pond.
Hope this helps.
Regards,
Justin

Armando Avila www.cosmosproducciones.com | I think what happens is I pay the money into my paypal account and the total is refunded. I have had the same thing happen in Mexico but the guy actually had the rack. He has frozen up one of my accounts and sits there playing with the unit I sent him.
Do you still want the comps because I have your rack sitting here with a power supply that was going to go out to empire music as an eq / comp.
You really should reconsider if you want the SSL comp sound. I can refit with a dual comp configuratiuon in a second and send it tomorrow.
Send me a mail with your thoughts Armando.

Best Regards

Its just that quote ' waiting for over a year'. It was a little over six mionths ago. No worries I just want that fact known.
I had a rack go out to a guy that arrived yesterday. These are the mails I got back today.
"Colin is in receipt of the package. He said it looks great and that you do really nice work. He is about to test it now and get back to me to see that everything works ok."
"Everything works great! Can you please send me the invoice ASAP for the remaining balance."
I hope this can make people feel more secure about my legitimacy.
