Smile sm57 hum problem

It's a good sounding unidyne lll except for what sounds like a grounding problem. Touch the the jack on the cable and it disappears. Opened it up and found 3 posts, which is one more than my newer 57's have. The third [middle] post is not connected to anything, but looks like it once was with it's dollop of solder still clinging to it. Can anyone direct me to a wiring diagram or advise me?
