Korg Legacy Analog & Digital won't be 64bit

Hi,
I just emailed Korg if they were going to update there Legacy Analog & Digital software to 64bit OS & this is what they said.

Thank you for your enquiry.

Since there is no real benefit in porting code such as the KORG Legacy Collection series to 64-bit, there currently are no plans to do so that I am aware of.

Most native 64-bit DAWs have some sort of built-in BitBridge which enables you to use 32-bit plugins in a 64-bit environment without any issues. The KORG Legacy Collection series can also be run in standalone mode on any 64-bit Windows or Mac machines without any problems.

What do you think they should do.

Since they're NOT ram-eating monsters (not even close to that, they're very light in fact) I don't see a problem running them at 32-bits. I won't even bother bridging it.

lazy developers, glad i sold mine. either the person you spoke to is misinformed, or it'd seem that they've end-of-line'd the plugins

Just read Music Techs review of Cubase6 & they stated that in 64bit Cubase6 Mac version you can only run one 32bit plugin.
That seems like a BIG problem to me for Mac users of Korg Legacy Analog & Digital vst's

Korg may well be ending there support for them. dfegad

Have you complained to Korg yet as i think they are being hopeless considering the price of the Legacy Analog & Digital synths.

Good Luck

Jbridge is really good for 32 bit stuff.

But the built in bridge in my DAW (cubase) is AWFUL! Not sure about other bridges.

They probably just figure they wont make any money so they dont care. I dunno.

Just found out that Korg has updated their development plan for Korg Legacy Edition, these sentences are now found in the compatibility chart:

*2: Although not currently 64-bit, we plan to have 64-bit versions within the 2012 calendar year.
*3:We will check compatibility when major DAWs are cleared for support of Mountain Lion."

This is great news.

See korguser.net, there's an update a few weeks ago that they are coming but a little later than first thought.
