Thread Starter | Nickelback Sucks
Not according to me, but clearly we don't all agree.
My first + last post... cuz I couldn't be less interested in debating whether a band sux or not.
But this topic was in need of a home.
My opinion? I've been a radioslut my entire life + all that implies.
Have @ it boyz...

I didn't realize there was a debate?
Isn't this sort of like saying the sun is hot, or a broken leg hurts? Sort of self-evident, I mean...

Here we can all gather and bathe in our hatred for bands like this. David Cross put it best..
"I don't like any of that fukking P.O.D., Staind, Evanescene bullshit… Creed nonsense… Seriously, it's just that fraudulent shit you know, that's all this simplistic kinda, you know, 10th grade suburban white girl lyrics… that shouldn't be coming out of, ya know, 30-year-old men. I'd rather hear the death rattle of my only child than have to listen to that fukking shit."

LOL
I agree but...........to each his own.
I also think there is no good or bad because everyone's perceptions, likes, and dislikes are different (some more so) than your own. Life experiences, what mom and dad played, and what your buddy's favorite songs were all play a roll.
Some of us like intelligent lyrics along with original guitar riffs. Some people like music simply because they find it catchy; or somehow these lyrics relate to their lives..
My perception of Nickelback happens to be the same as yours. NO FLAME WAR PLEASE

Frankly, I think it's an outrage that a well known producer/engineer like Charles Dye would go around slagging off a well known and very successful and talented band.....

They're not talented? Oh...well I don't know, the only song of theirs I've really listened to is that one with 2 songs playing at the same time...that takes some talent there, to be able to do that and have it sound as good as if just one were playing....

I suppose "success" and "talented" are open to debate. Well-known, unfortunately, is not.
It goes to the question of whether there are aesthetic absolutes. Would someone who doesn't speak english appreciate Shakespeare? Probably not, except for the occasional rhyme, perhaps. Similarly, would someone who doesn't have a real interest in music like King Crimson? Probably not.
But go around the world and people can quote Arnold Schwarzenegger and listen to crap like Nickelback.
Lowest common denominator...

Guys, I have the proof that Chad Krooger (sp?) is a modern day genius. Billy Shakespeare, Jimmy Joyce, and all your favorites would be shaking with envy: Figured You Out - Nickelback
I like your pants around your feet
And I like the dirt that's on your knees
And I like the way you still say please
While you're looking up at me
You're like my favorite damn disease
thank me later: http://www.sing365.com/music/lyric.n...256D8E00123C53

This is from the site you posted with the lyrics. Why do I find it odd? I guess they haven't perfected the direct marketing program just yet.

Ah come on, if you want to get people bitching and screaming, at least make it a band that has done something of stature todays pop bullSh*t acts aren't even worth discussing... why not fight over Pink Floyd, the Beatles...just don't make a forum about Michael Jackson, cause we all KNOW he sucks and cant debate it. |

MJ would moonwalk all over Nickelback and then sing thriller without auto-tune while they cried like babies.
