Thread Starter | Mackie turns down forum request?
I spend 200 bucks buying a Mackie Blackjack, sign up to be a member of their forum, they say they have to approve it, and I get an email saying I was disapproved? This is how they treat their customers? They won't let some of us participate on their forum after we buy their products? I own 2 402 vlz mixers and now the blackjack and I am forbidden to be on their forums?

Mackie are definitely not the company they used to be in any shape or form. I think part of it is not listening to guys like you!

Steinberg didn't use to allow any registrations from Gmail, for example, because it's safer for them to assume you're a spammer...

I was turned down on the motu-nation forum (and one other forum I can't remember) because my email starts with info@
I guess they're assuming I'm a spammer too. |

Contact them and I'm sure they will be happy to have you.
You sure got excited though. That's funny.

As a long time peruser of the Mackie forums I can tell you that they are seriously jacked-up at the moment. At some point earlier this month they were completely gone for a couple of days. When they re-appeared, about 3 weeks of posts were missing. The appearance has changed, and has serious glitches (like dark blue text on a black background for recent posts). Many long time users left after Mackie seemed unresponsive to their concerns.

I bet everyone getting turned down is due to the "re-do" of the site. It is seriously flawed at the moment and I would not be surprised that the declines are related to the horror show that is the new website. Even doing a "quick reply" over there these days makes you enter a verification code, which makes me giggle as it definitely is not quick. Hopefully it will get unf*cked soon....

We just outright banned most of the free e-mail domains, because they don't police their members. So spammers by the truckload use them. We are very serious about preventing any crap on our forum, so we check each new signup and we couldn't keep up with the deluge of spammers and crackpots who use these free systems. You get what you pay for basically.

The Mackie Onyx Blackjack is a piece of crap IMO. I bought one last week and I'm sending it back and will probably not buy anything from Mackie from now on.

I ask because I've a Mac and while it seems to work fine I haven't tested mic inputs yet.

I have to add that when it works it a nice little unit but then suddenly it starts to crackle and distort. I don't seem to be the only one having these problems.

I'm in the same boat.. Windows 7 32bit. works... then looses sync... crackles start.. Change buffer setting, or reload driver.. Fine for a few minutes, then boom. Looses sync again.
I am having a bitch of a time figuring it out. I will say though, for 200 bucks it's a great sounding little box. When it works..

Onyx Blackjack is awesome. Absolutely ruined by awful, awful drivers for PC's.
