drunk moan

just got back from the bars in red bank new jersey (trendy little "village-esque" town in jersey) and got chased out by the police! cops followed me and my friends into a bar and chased us out! not exactly sure what happened, but they claimed "public intoxication."

this is the same town that my car window was kicked in and police did nothing. i am not one to say "**** the police but????"

do your job man......don't chase people out of the bar that are out having a good time...

i'll see how this reads in the morning...........

Hey guys, thank you for your concern.

The story, shortened, goes like this:

Me and my buddies were dressed very nicely to celebrate his new job. We went out to a nice place, drank, went to a club, and we were definetly tipsy.

Walking down the street we ran into an African American male and struck up a conversation as we were walking to the next bar. We may have been loud, in fact, we probably were. 3 police cars pull over and ask if there is anything wrong, we explain that everything is fine.

One of the officers says: "don't worry, he's just a punk ass n-word anyway." Yes, this is a quote. (at this point the black gentleman had already slipped away, so thankfully he did not hear this comment)

So, we assume it was a racial issue (obviously) and just continue on our way. I normally do all I can do to avoid the men in blue anyway....

After we cross the street and start walking into the bar I see one of the cop cars slow down, the other back up. We walk in, head to the bar, and are kindly escorted out by 4 of NJ's finest along with some snide remarks. We were told we couldn't drink in Red Bank that night and to get our drinks somewhere else - citing public intoxication as the reason...

We left and it put a damper (to say the least) on a really great night. Racism in the year 2006, especially by a public servant who's job requires a constant objective view is horrifying. What makes it worse is how blatant it was....

Do your job: protect and serve. Our tax dollars pay you, you work for us.

You are too kind to these morons. **** THEM. The world is becoming a police state, and USA is leading the way I am afraid.

They are out of control, people need to remind them they are public servants, don't be afraid of their power, just laugth at them! Can you be arrested for finding something funny? The problem ones are just like school bullies, they remind me of wasps, always so many of them swarming ready to sting you for no reason!

In the UK I am sure you could complain about rascist police and someone would at least pretend to do something... They have to give you their details if you ask. I am sure there are some rascist ones here, but they would never let you know about it for fear of losing their jobs.

yeah, its late night here and I should go to bed... no dreams of swarming police I hope :)

have fun, and fight the power!

Man, I couldn't agree with you more.....this world is in the sh***er.

Authority figures become what they are for obvious reason - they want POWER.

Made fun of in highschool? Get 'em back!! Become a PIG.....

Sucked on the football team? Prove that you're a man....join the FUZZ!

My car has been searched many many times for absolutely no reason just because I am a young guy (no blue spiked hair or mo hawks, btw).

I know you guys were drunk, but if it happens again, slowly and calmly ask for all the police's details... badge number or whatever. Never raise your voice or act up. Do it with the deadpan seriousness you would expect from a USA Customs guy at an airport. Get a pen and paper and note down the time and the witnesses names. I know this may be hard to do if you are getting pushed out a bar by a f**kin bully cop, so in that case remember to take a note of their car# or whatever else you can to identify them. Especialy when drunk, write this all down immediatly. Then as soon as you can raise a complaint against the police at the proper athority. You may want to talk with a lawer. Do it or a**holes like this just keep getting away with it.
