Strange, mutant breed of half-size mice

I fire up the hot water to do a little dishes yesterday morning, and what should be scrambling around in the sink but a (soaked) mini-mouse-- not just a baby normal mouse, but a fully formed critter about the size of my thumb!

I fished it out with tongs and escorted it outside... but these guys are devious! They don't like cheese or peanut butter, they seem very sophisticated about traps of all kinds, and they can probably squeeze inbetween the edges of a fully closed door!

When the space aliens mated with apes to create humans, they must have mated with a few mice to create these little monsters. Help!

Heh, I thought you were saying 'half-breed'. Next, you'll be saying you see gypsies, tramps and thieves in the house.

That looks exactly like them! Maybe someone gave them to me as a pet and I didn't realize it.

This might also be a suspect, similar in colour and lives in continental Europe so it is able to survive harsher weather too.

ACME must have some ideas how to chase them down, should they become a regular nuisance.

If I was a snake I'd starve with these guys, that's like the Adkins diet for snakes!

I think I may have detected a weakness: for Newman's Creamy Caesar Salad Dressing with peppercorns. We'll see who's the crafty one around here....

Hey! I heard that!!!

Well, it didn't work, the little creep ignored the Newman's trap and instead pawed through the apple peelings in the other sink.

You see what I'm saying? This is not a mouse we're dealing with-- it's a full-blown conspiracy to drive me totally insane, which if they only knew is not exactly what you'd call a chore.
