e-bay ruined my day

so there I am, eagerly waiting the countdown of a d-50 which is at a good price and located not too far from me. I really want this synth, I've been listening to demo after demo of it on youtube and have fallen in love with it's sounds. I'm going to win this thing no matter what, it's going to be mine, all mine! I can't wait to get my hands on it! I love those sounds!

It gets down to the last 18 seconds and I'm about to weigh in with a bid, but for some reason e-bay has taken it upon it's self to sign me out of my account! at the most inconvenient time possible!

so now i have to log back in, which for some reason takes a lot longer than usual, and by the time it takes me to the 'confirm your bid' screen I miss out on the thing which goes for a steal.

Thanks e-bay, you rock. thumbsup

Waiting until the last 18 seconds is pretty risky. Just bid your highest bid earlier next time.

Exactly, how is using those third party services different from just entering your maximum bid?

The idea is that sniping (waiting until the last seconds) keeps the excitement for the item down by not showing as much interest in it. Excitement down keeps pricing down. There may be some truth to that but I think it is exaggerated. People know what they want to bid, everyone waiting until the last minute doesn't really change the outcome. Unless your connection crashes at the last minute when you were going to bid.
