Thread Starter | messsed up VP-26 kit
So annoyed.. So i get the vp-26 kit.. build it everything is set.. build the op amp everything is cool. Miss the addendum the instructions about the mislabeling of the pcb with the 2 wires from the output transformer.. try and fix it and basically wreck the thing. 1) lift one pad off the back of the pcb were the wire switch was. 2) put the wrong nut on the gain knob. try and force it and hear a cracking sound most likely from the gain pot. Now the pre sounds like a total grain distortion box and the output attenuator does aboslutely nothing... I shoulda just left it reversed... it sounded fine. Ahh why do i try and do things right.
