Sorry, you will never be able to replace the org version and the artist back then, a well wrote song and killer artist back then, just shows the talent is not there anymore.

Maybe so, bit the original version won't raise money for Haiti either.

Besides, The Dude is singing on this one. The Dude abides.

I hated the original, nauseating pile of vomit. It doesn't deserve to be exhumed for Haiti either. Having said all that, The Dude does indeed abide
Why not drop the price of The Big Lebowski and make that a charity DVD?
That way folks get spared the puerile song and see a damn fine movie instead

But how will it generate money when all the kids will just download it illegally? Don't they know that nobody buys records anymore?

I read somewhere that lame artists as Akon,, Jonas Brothers, Enrique Iglesias, Lil Wayne, Kanye West, Taylor Swift and Lady Gaga are singing on the new version.

Give me a break. Why do they want to destroy this song with such artists. No remake can come close to the original song and "cast".

They should make a completly new song without the artists above and not a remake:(

I'm with you, but I stopped keeping up with music after the early 90's. My mind is in the bygone era of the 70's and 80's

The thing I like about the original is the spotlighted focus on each very unique vocal style - regardless of technical vocal *skill*. A vast, diverse collection of very distinct individuals, and the collective delivery of melody was good. Some neat, oddball combos for the harmonized lines too...

I don't think the new artists of today's pop music are the problem. The problem is the music. It's mostly rythm based and not melody based.
