Hahahaha

I've been a big fan for years, and have seen Tyler perform. There will be no replacement.

I wonder of the incident last summer where he got hurt and Perry disrespected him has anything to do with this? Either way, I'm actually surprised they have been putting on such a show as long as they have. Not exactly young men anymore.

Oh no!!! I could see that happening.
Steven is a great frontman. It would be sad to see a unknown try to front such a iconic band. Or even worse Scott Weiland or Chris Cornell .

Perhaps since they are all retirement age, they should just retire. Get together & do a reunion show every now & then like LZ or Genesis.

I find Steven Tyler & Paul McCartney to be living caricatures of themselves.

They've played some incredibly great live shows... too bad that now you won't be able to see them and change your tune!

I know them, although I haven't pursued the connection for quite some time. Steven called me one day from a local studio to say they were fans of my records... having seen a poster in the studio. I didn't believe it was him until he sang to me over the phone. They invited us to dinner and the show, which was great!

Anyway, I maintained a friendly relationship with them for a long time, but then we kind lost touch. It's hard to be friends with famous people. There's a lot more to the story... for here it's just a preface to my statement that they are really good musicians and nice guys... good luck dudes!

Best live rock show I've ever seen, hands down. They were such a phenomenal band. Tyler is just a one-of-a-kind. That said they're now well past their sell by date as a creative force and live act. Diane Warren songs? Really?

Tyler's not looking too good these days either.

Yes, there are bands like the new Cars, the new Doors, INXS, even Journey where this is relatively possible. But Steven Tyler's vocal sound and interpretation of their music is so unique, and such a big part of the Aerosmith sound, nobody could every pull it off. Would be like finding a replacement for Mick Jagger?

Yeah right, he is the band......take his voice away and you can dump the rest no matter how much talent they have.

There was still an Aerosmith? Wow.

I remember that they were cool like 30 years ago, but being a teenager in the 90's I remember hearing stuff on the radio from them and quickly turning the station.

Probably won't leave but the world has been reminded that Aerosmith exists, this is a well designed publicity stunt, expect 'their best album in years' after a public reconciliation, HUGE world tour and bluray extravamofoganza.

I wonder if that was staged. Makes for great interesting headlines.

However, if it was not staged, at age 61 pulling a last minute stage surprise at your band mates gig to announce sensitive information ----- well....... lol - how very rock and roll.

I've seen them twice live, in the past five years. I wasn't really into it, it seemed like they were going through the motions etc. Maybe it's just because the venues were so big, though.

LOL, cherone is quite happy with the newly reformed Extreme, i can assure you. their recent shows have been some of the best i've ever seen, certainly much better than the lazy Aerosmith show's i've seen.

And this is coming from a big Aero-fan.

Speaking of Extreme, does anyone else remember when this song came out and it was impossible to turn on a radio without hearing it?
