idiots.

i'm tired of reading every single speaker thread about some celestions, wether it be greenbacks vintage 30's or new found-dangld ones.... and having countless idiots recommend some shit ass webbers or eminences.

when i ask about the tonal characteristics of a celestion blue. i don't give a rats ass about what the webbers do, i'm not even slightly considering putting one into my cab. how about the topic at hand ?

if i wanted some crap speakers i'd ask about them. is it that hard to stick to a topic and offer valid advice if you even have any instead of countering with your half baked and low budget alternatives that honestly don't come close to the real deal in practical applicationl?

"but those webber blue dogs hit the celestion blue tone right on the money"

no they don't ******s. they hit the webber blue dog tone right on the money, only a true blue can sound like a true blue. anything else is an imitation or a copy, NOT A CLONE.

give me a break ******s.

Well I had Webber make me some custom speakers a few years ago that sound IDENTICAL to Celestion "Green backs" but can handle quite a bit more power and have not gone "soft" on me [the way Green Backs do within a 5 or 6 hours with a 130w head].

From my perspective you're the idiot... but somehow I have a feeling you'll not see my perspective and reject my observations due to your pure bigotry and preconceived beliefs.

I would say you should consider shoving one up your ass... but I'd probably get another infraction point so I'm not going to say that.

I get the beef of not staying on topic, even if the rant is a bit off-putting.

Perhaps we should stay on point.

Oh, wait a minute...
if the point was a good sounding speaker...
and opinions were sought...
and then opinions on speakers was given...
hmmm......

what was the question?

I have a webber blue dog and an Ipswich, Suffolk UK v30, 25 and 30 watt in an 18 watt amp.

It is like having the best of both worlds.

What is the topic again anyway? O yeah Webbers!

haha i love you guys

i'm actually lol'ing, thanks for that all!

it's just very aggrivating in general,

NO WEBBER sounds like a real blue.

no eminence sounds like a true celestion. only the originals capture the same tone that the originals produced. some may come 99.9% close but that's not 100%.

that is my only truth i wish to share.fuuck

I've got Webbers in my late model Chevy and it sounds EXACTLY like a Volkswagon.

I hope this helps - dd

I would think so. All of the speakers mentioned are great, just depends on what you are looking for.
As far as recording, call me crazy but I hated my Greenbacks using a 3124+ with a 57, resorted to Vintage 30s loved it, well I tried the 512c +57 on my greenbacks and they sound amazing, it was not mic placement either plus I was reamping the same track on both trials. The 512c gets it done every time no matter what I'm doing.

Ted A. Weber RIP

TAKE ON WEBER SPEAKERS SITE:

Ted's family and staff want to thank you for all of your kind words, condolences and prayers. It is a very difficult time, but Ted would want us to keep this train going. I have had the distinct pleasure of working side by side with my Father for the past 14 years, developing this hobby from a handful of speakers sent to a few friends; to a company that has enriched the global music community. Ted's products and designs have gone all over the world to every inhabited continent. Many of his friends who he has helped over these past years, he has never met face to face. He was a teacher to countless musicians and a friend to anyone who needed advice. His memory will live on through the music that these musicians and friends will play for years to come. Ted's legacy will live on through the company that he, TA and the guys have built from humble beginnings in a basement, garage and now our current shop. We feel honored to have this task before us. His shoes will be hard to fill, but we have had a few years to prepare ourselves for this fateful time. In the tradition of how Ted took care of his friends, we are looking forward providing the same quality and friendship to you, our valued customers. You are Ted's family, you knew him as we knew him. Music, speakers and gear were his passion and you shared that with him over the past 14 years, as we have. We want to thank you from the bottom of our hearts; this is not an easy time for us, but we will pick up Ted's guitar and keep playing !
Thank you very much, God bless you
TA and the Guys @ Weber

sorry guys , a blue dog will never be an alnico blue. i will never have the distinct tonal characteristics that come from eveything from the magnet's metallic properties, cone paper, paper thickness and stiffness and even the glue used on the speaker itself.
beat it in ya heads !

Sorry, cloiselle, but a NEW RE-ISSUE Celestion Blue will never be a vintage original blue. It will never have the distinct tonal characteristics that come from everything from the magnet's metallic properties, cone paper, paper thickness and stiffness and even the glue used on the speaker itself.

THEY'RE BOTH CLONES. The only difference is the brand they're sold under, and the question of how good each sounds. Beat it in ya head !

Anyway, RIP, Weber. The guy made some awesome speakers. I hope the family keeps it going strong because I've been planning to pick some up. Why? Because as far as clones go, they sound better to me than the clones Celestion is putting out.

Ya, they're both clones. Really. Quit whining.
