Damn, what really sucks is he was a single parent to 3 kids. I hope they will be ok and left alone by the media.

no doubt, poor kids.
He left a legacy the likes of which no one else will ever leave, we can celebrate that. He was a giant in his time and place, hopefully his later years won't over shadow his younger days' accomplishments.
Going to go spin Billie Jean in his honor.

I'm gutted.

A childhood hero is gone. Yes, there were many questions about him and what he may or may not have done, but he was one of the reasons I sing today and have a love of soul music.

One of the best voices ever in his best years.

Shame

Whatever his personal life may have been, no one can ever take away the fact that he was one of the most talented and groundbreaking artists of all time.

All I can think of now is Bruce Swedien's great stories about Michael, and how he nicknamed M.J. "Smelly", because that's what Michael would say instead of cursing or when something musical was really cool or funky, and he would call it "smelly jelly".

Hopefully he can find more peace in death than he did in life. Godspeed "Smelly"...

I am fking speechless right now. This can't be real. I grew up listening to him. I remember like it was yesterday skipping school with some friends to watch the premiere of Thriller, not that this has anything to do with this. I'm just typing my thoughts... Wow. I really feel like sht now. At the same time, I am glad that he no longer has to deal with the BS that this world is going through.
He is DEFINITELY in a better place. RIP.

I feel anger at his dad for ruining his childhood and turning him into a disturbed adult. I believe Michael Jackson would've been just as great without having been tortured as a child. For that matter, his brothers and sisters tormented him rather badly as well, following their father's example.

He was one of the world's greatest musical talents.

RIP Michael Jackson.

For you youngsters out there that think he was just a whack job celebrity, take the time to go back, study and appreciate his roots and early works as a solo artist. Lots to learn there.
