youtube clip of worst song ever (share yours!)

YouTube - Jermaine Jackson - Escape from the Planet of the Ant Men

Pretty sure this is the worst song ever. Sorry Jermaine. I remember buying this album in 1984 or so... I was only 10... I figured Thriller was pretty awesome, how bad could another Jackson's record be. I think I knew at the time this was NOT as cool as Thriller. I'm gonna stand by that.

feat. Randy & Tito Jackson

They came form outer space
I was kidnapped
Outside my cage there`s an army of ants
Brought me a mate today
Love at first sight
Now we`ve deceided to put up a fight

Chorus:
Plotting in the dark
Burnin` in my heart
Our great escape from the planet of the ant men
Plotting in the dark
Burning` our hearts
Our great escape from the planet of the ant men
From the planet of the ant men

A rebel bee wants to help us escape
Talking in dances and mapping the way
When it was midnight on the second moonrise
He`s found a spaceship and a wasp who will drive

Chorus

Showed us on TV
In a special report
Two wild humans loose lock your doors
By now we`re smiling and miles away
Can`t wait to see that earth marble again

Well since no one has posted their votes for worst song (with youtube link). I'm going to assume mine wins. It is pretty bad, eh?

OMG... that's way worse than Jermaine. I stand humbled. At least the reverb sounds good on the Jermaine track. Although (I guess) one could argue that there's some redeeming social value to their plea to not "make a war" where there is (one hopes) no need to stir up revolt against our insect overlords with the help of "rebel bees".

Too-fast, shaky vibratos (for instance, Alison Krauss, Buffy Sainte-Marie and Devendra Barnhart, to name three offenders) are an especially nerve-wracking thing for me. Here's someone called Margie Hicks, who's trying to make them all sound like Ethel Merman in comparison:

Wow

I haven't listened to the others yet but the Hongarian 'rapper' is probably quite hard to beat.

Yeah.... come on...

This is comfortably the worst thing ever recorded:

YouTube - EL TRONO DE MEXICO ALMAS GEMELAS

Check out the drum programming - watch out Squarepusher!

Man, I often receive requests to teach this "style" of drumming. Breaks my heart every time I explain what's really happening. How can you tell a prospective client that this isn't really "real" drumming, let alone that it's actually bad "drumming" and still sign them up as students?

I have it even worse when we get into 3-based, instead of 2-based rhythms.

That said, my students are coming through and getting over their "early influences."

I am truly hoping to cause a change for the better in the NorCal corrido scene, but the competition is stiff.

This one's so far away in space that there's no conventional benchmark available to judge it good or bad:

After seeings some of these I am decided "Escape from the Planet of the Ant Men" is a pretty kickin' track. Sometimes when I watch the videos posted in response to mine I wish a rebel bee would talk (in dances) and explain WTF is going on with these horrible horrible tracks. It all makes sense now Jermaine. Thanks man.

Frightening, isn't it?

I used to live in the Canary Islands where they listen to a horrifying blend of GM patch Merengue with a mountain beat.

This is a special tune (and a great video):

I am afraid to click on that link, man. If there are two things I learned about "World Music" is that the Spanish shouldn't be allowed to do Pop, and the Mexicans should not attempt Salsa, Cumbia nor Bachata.

Go on, man! I dare you!!

This band is actually from the Canary Islands (Spain) which is a beautiful archipelago, but the local music is unbelievable.

:-)
