Steve Raitt, Bonnie Raitt's brother passed away. He was one of the best engineers the Twin Cities ever had.

Steve was a great guy. He was the first sound guy I really looked up to. It was awesome watching him do background vocals from behind the board. He will be missed.

I always got together with Steve when I was in Mpls. It always led to designs on the backs of napkins - some awesome home automation schemes (RTI), lots of cool home theaters and sound systems. He was a great audio mad scientist and an amazing singer.

Steve told me how the cancer treatment had taken away his ability to sing, but he never stopped trying, then one day he felt a shock and his singing voice came back.

Hey babe - we miss ya.

I only knew Steve as a friend and neighbor. I never worked with him, or even saw him on stage. But the man I knew was kind, funny, and brought a smile to my face every time I saw him! The world is a little less pleasant without him in it. Steve is someone I will never forget! RIP my friend.
