Just can't get that girl..

Liked this girl for a while, but the worst thing is she's never interested, and doubt ever will be, preferring to be "just friends".

Argh, the female species are a far too complex lot.

What I am gonna say is totally sexist, but true....
Ignore her. If there is any chance with her this will make her take notice. Worked for me many times.

I am ready to flamed for that.

that's what's wrong with our economy, and how it got so messed up...
guys thinking they need to "win" a girl by spending more money than he can afford, and then getting dumped. Now he's broke and depressed.

hey WAKE UP!

There's so much truth to that. Hot girls know they're hot and need constant confirmation of that fact or else they go crazy. Yes, probably sexist, but also often true.

I think I know this, is it tire rotation specialist or bartender? Maybe A&R rep?

Tell her that you think she sings great or plays whatever instrument great and you would like to record her as a side project. (Even if she isn’t any good) Or if she doesn’t do either, ask if she has ever worked in a " recording studio”, and that you could use some help sometime recording your projects. Get her close to you and working with you so you can have some of those "moments" together.

Careful which microphone. If she's not a gear-head she might get the wrong impression if she unwraps an SM58.

Yes, that was a dick joke.

Girls and women choose and pick men.
End of story, no matter what you do...
It's all up to her.
That's the way it works, it always has been, always will be.

My wife of five years was under the impression that I was only interested in friendship.
This was eleven years ago.

I'd be careful about pecker slapping. This could happen to you:

great, choped my finger off.

Except it won't be your finger.

My recommendation is to not even bother. You have so much time ahead of you. In two or three years, you're going to look back on everyone your age and laugh at how silly the dating / going out stuff was. Don't sweat it.

Act like you are interested in one of her friends. Then she will get jealous and show more interest in you. Pick one that you think is cute too. Maybe you will get lucky and end up with her, or better yet end up with both of them (although this can be a slippery road). Be confident. Its really all about confidence. Any guy can pretty much get any girl. The girl just has to see some sort of value in being with you.

Your better off without her.

If you do hook up and start dating her, you'll end up getting married, having some kids. She will put on a bunch of weight, bitch about you spending money on gear and hanging out with the boys. She will deny you sex, give you a load of crap because you forgot her birthday and spent the gift money on beer and finally divorce you.

You will die a broken man. Lonely and poor

Take the money you would have have spent on wooing her, be a true Gearslut and buy more expensive toys.

Why the flame? I don't think it's sexist at all. It works on anybody, regardless of sex. Any time you flow a great deal of affection or attention to someone and then withdraw it completely, you're going to pull IN attention. It's good advice.

Oh and you’ll need a Playboy magazine or two to get you by...because after all that great gear, and all of your recording accomplishments, at the end of the day, a man still needs two things, a woman and a pizza.

Treat her like dirt, and she will stick like mud.

Now don't be a complete ass to her, but joke with her, if she does something wrong or messes up torment her about it but to the point shes still laughing along. But have 2 sides to it as well. 1 side is making fun of her and making her laugh at herself with you, while the other side is complimenting her and deffinitely do not ignore her when shes in a sad mood deffinitely fill her with compliments when shes down. But don't sound like a robot built to just tell her how pretty she is, be human. Oh, and be yourself.

Let me try to recap the advice on this thread thus far:
  • Forget about her
  • Buy gear
  • Ignore her
  • Slap a table with your penis
  • Don't slap a table with your penis or you risk getting it lobbed off
  • Nail her hot friends
  • Treat her like dirt and she'll be muddy
  • She's just pizza anyway
Did I miss any?

MikeTSH, I think for me if she would have liked you it would be obvious by now!
So stop time waisting, and stressing, she might just not like you that way!!!
Sometimes the obvious is the truth.

I had the same deal 2 months ago, (she wont wear my jewelry gifts thread)

I did everything, showed her a huge house we could buy,. (4200 SF, NEW house)

show her a car, more gifts, get her a freaking green card!! (now expired haha)
I took her to a top 40 (top 10) platinum recording act, back stage passes, dinner with the band behind stage party, on stage tickets!! Showed her all the instruments (We even got in BEFORE the fan club)
I even got the band to tell her how pretty she was..
I told all the good jokes making her laugh 24/7!

In the end she went with the guy that gave her facial lacerations and black eyes.

I am ~SO~ glad she moved on now that I know about her need to be beaten and neglected in order to feel accepted. (That kind of stuff is a mystery to me thank god)
NorseHorse,
AND YES MY FINGER TIP IS CUT LIKE A MOFO lol.... hahaha...
In the end I joined a punk rock band in a college town to solve my social woes..
I'm holding out for a talented piano player girl now.

play it cool man. here are the possibilities as I see it

you ...
'slap your pecker on the table' (come straight out with it and see if she's interested...)
possible outcomes...
she feels the same way, everyone is happy, or
she gets freaked out and now you have lost your in with her (the basis of my method is that if she has some slight, or potential feelings for you, she may still freak out. Maybe she hasn't thought of you like that, or maybe she's had her attention on someone else, or maybe some other girl thing, who knows? lol)

only go this route if you have solid evidence that she'll return the feelings

orrr
you...
play it cool... let her call/text you first most of the time... if you keep saying 'hey, hey, hey, how's it going? hey, hey, hey, wanna hang out? hey, hey, hey, you're great...' she's going to figure it out by her self and in my experience, constantly talking to her and giving her attention isn't going to make her fall for you...

possible outcomes...
she stops texting/calling and you realize you were the one that was really setting up contact most of the time (which means she probably isn't that interested), or,
she keeps calling to do things... this is a good sign and hopefully your 'playing it cool' will make her think that you aren't a silly little boy that won't leave her alone because you have a crush on her (not that you are a silly boy in reality, but maybe in her eyes). If you have a chance with her, she'll make the effort to come to you. then hopefully things can advance all the while you are playing it cool.

also, playing it cool doesn't mean you never call her, just let her come to you and see what happens. Don't get the jimmies after 2 days if you haven't heard from her... just repeat to yourself... play it cool.

of course, ymmv, and there are no sure things, but I think that this is a good method to keep you from over-doing it with a friend that you are interested in... be ready to accept that it's very possible that you won't get together, and be okay with it.

i'll probably get flamed as well for this, but it's a good way to figure out if anything is going to happen, ymmv, and all girls are different so that doesn't help lol.

Nah, I've seen men who can choose almost any woman they want. It all depends on the person. Good looks can take you far, but looks and a good personality (charm and intelligence) = game.

Maybe she's more into another guy who has more of this going for him. It all comes down to the science of mating.

Then again, she could be a lesbian and you don't know it yet.

If you get a girl by treating her like dirt, do you really want to be with a girl like that? That mostly means she has issues, and will probably be more of a headache than someone fun to be around over time.

The best thing you can do is to get over the notion that every girl you like, should like you back. It's never works that way, infact I'm sure there are girls that have liked you and you didn't want to be with them.

Just make yourself more appealing to them by grooming yourself, working out, dressing better, picking up hobbies that you like(stay away from letting them know that you like Dungons and Dragons at first), and you'll end up with a girl for you.

If you put yourself in the mind set that you are freakin' awesome with or without her, then you'll start to see that women respond to that kind of personality more where the guy is secure and confident in himself.
