Taylor Swift on SNL

Wow. I don't think I've EVER seen a major label-backed artist suck as thoroughly as what I just saw on Saturday Night Live. This is the sh*t that gets the major push behind them???? To me, this was the final nail in the coffin of the major labels. It couldn't be any worse. Simply disgusting.

Just finished watching it, and came directly to the Moan Zone.

Not only is the music vapid, but the band pretending to ROCK HARD in the background made me want to gag! That bass player....ugh

I just...I just...I just don't get things anymore.

how could it be worse than that "simpson part duh" gal's vocal malfunction with the lip-sync machine a few years ago?

or is this a case of history repeating itself, first as comedy, then as tragedy?

I saw her on the "Ellen" show and thought she was one of the most boring/generic/unoriginal performers that I've seen in a long time. Despite all of that she was bragging about her ability to "write" her own songs.

The bass player...

The snare sound...

I turned down the volume and spent a couple of minutes looking at Taylor Swift.

You didn't see Kanye? FAR worse IMO.

Taylor Swift is just ultra bland, non-threatening, well-marketed crap. Kanye is on a whole 'nother level, many, many floors below...

You know what this means? The next actually Great ROCK BAND is long overdue and should be here anytime now...

There's already many putting out records on their own. The major labels are too busy hashing out (are there no innovative/creative/risk takers at the labels anymore?) the same ole' same ole' records for American Idol rejects/wannabees.

I have to say I caught the last song she did and couldn't believe how bad she sounded and the bass player was cracking me up. At least there was no question as to whether or not she was really singing. Have to say the mix wasn't the greatest either but that could have been due to the talent level on stage.

Man...that kinda just made me sad.

I guess it really WILL be a good thing when the Crystal Skull-shaped asteroid shoots out of the Mayan Black Hole and unites our collective being into a single ball of all-knowing energy.

just...wow.

we watched the first song....shut the tv off..and put jenny lewis's new record on the turntable.

I'd buy whatever she is selling..

Is it me or does it sound like the instruments need to be more upfront?

The bass player had me peeing in my pants. He was rockin' out like he was in Dio or something, but the music was all softy-pofty. I was expecting much stronger vocals.

I didn't think the vocals were THAT bad, but they certainly did not benefit from being uber up front and the rest of the instrument tones sucking to the core.

My pick for most uncomfortable band of the month. The bass player is jumping around like he just pounded down a six pack of Red Bull. There is the guy in the back, sport jacket and acoustic guitar that looks straight off the Jimmy Swagert set. Swift singing sounds like someone told her they would kill her puppy if she didn't do it.

It just looks a lot like a family sitting around the living room playing Rock Band on Thanksgiving.
