She's 1 of those who kick the dead horse of ART in Music. Art's dead, almost anything's business... should we like those Live Acts ?? Really !!!

She's cute - hell she's adorable - and therein lies the explanation of her success.

Sadly, there are thousands of chicks who can really rock, with truly incredible voices and musicianship, but they aren't ever going to be on SNL. They're just not the right kind of gift wrapping. Music success stories aren't about always talent, they're about packaging. Madonna comes to mind... Sheesh, she's not good. Kanye... another perfect example (as a singer - I think he's actually a good producer).

And yes, the band... What a damn joke. I thought she was country, I had no idea she was so punk rock.

"Writers" like her are absolutely killing Nashville. Folks, she won NSAI songwriter of the year last year...It's not about the song anymore. It's about even crappier pop than the crappy pop coming out of LA. At least people from LA can sing.

Hell, I might have just killed my career if the wrong person reads this...Oh well.

I will admit it was truly awful and she is by far the worst famous singer of our time with the most boring songs. The problem here is that she IS NOT going anywhere . She will continue to make these records that frankly "Country Radio" think are genius. I find the whole thing to be extremely funny. You have this 18 year old girl who has fooled the nation and fooled what is arguably the most musically talented popular music genre, "Country Music" into buying this mediocre crap. I will say she has an unfair advantage in that she her audience is primarily 10-18 year old girls that think she's pretty and don't even listen to any other country artist. Her label head is the biggest lying geek in the business and they lick her b-hole clean everyday because she's all they really have. Everything else on their label has failed miserably sales wise that is. If you want to hear an AMAZING country song please listen to Jamie Johnson's "In Color" that is what country music is all about.

Is this what you're about:

YouTube - Taylor Swift on SNL

I'm not familiar with her, but it is pretty dire.

Thanks, I think.

That is like something you would see at a junior high talent contest, losing.

After reading all these comments I am glad I have no idea who this broad is. I don't watch tv or listen to fm radio because I have important things to do (like Gearslutz) and I prefer LOCAL and LIVE entertainment.

edit: I just read this back when I got home and DAMN do I sound like a smug jerkoff. Sorry folks!

Wholly crap!
I had no idea...never listened to Swift before.
I've seen better singers on American Idol.

She was good on the AMAs, that "Crossroads" she did with Def Leopard was very good as well.

This was kinda aweful.

She sings like she has stage fright. Do you hear that tremor in her voice? I think her voice is workable, but she just plain doesn't know how to sing. She should take some time off and take some real lessons. Even a few months of training would do her wonders.

All bad comments aside, this was not one of her better performances. I think she is better than this..

I had lunch with a co-worker yesterday and we started talking about music.

Out of the blue he said "who is this Taylor Swift chick? Is she an American Idol person or something? She's pretty bad".

Hyia. Just to duck and cover from those who could say I flame that chick on cowboy boots for fun, irony, envy...

I did really sung good as a child: I went here and there as white-voice performer
in christian choruses. So I know what I mean with this:

She's a self-satisfied crappy singer, she can *not* sing... just keep those words, baby !!
Look at that lyrics, they end their life in an horrible undefined mourn !! WTF is she doing there?

The uebercrap prêt-à-porter of a casual ex-friend of some jonas who went out of the whale ??
