Ever check out the sample disks Oasis sends out?

Oasis disk manufacturer sends out sample disks. I've asked for a few to hear what the competition is up to. Most of the recordings sound good, to me at least. Funny thing is, all of the music sucks.
I have not heard one song on about six different disks that I liked. The best stuff sounds exactly like something already famous, such as a Bonny Rait song, etc.
Very clean, smooth, nicely mastered recordings of absolute crap.
These recordings are straight from the hobby houses like mine. Total crap.

yeah..and some of the very same people (no doubt) who blame the labels for putting out "crap".
