Please observe the chronological order and dates on these posts as the situation has changed since I first discussed it with Skipper Wise in October '04 at AES in San Francisco. I thought the mics were available at THAT time. To date, I have not heard from anyone who has used one. Not suggesting that they don't exist though. I just don't know anyone who has one.

I dont think the quality of these mics was ever the issue? It was more a question of wether blue or the designer of the blue microphones held the rights for the designs.

I dont think the quality is an issue either... But if i here a mic and like it, either from blue, violet, red, indigo or whoever i'll buy it.

I just find it interesting that some things are considered illegitimate copies, and others are considered legitimate clones... Like the large number of Neve products that are out there as well as telefunken clones, SSL clones, RCA clones, EMI clones, API clones...

Yet when one microphone company uses similar aesthetic mic designs that is indeed different looking from every other mic its immoral and wrong
