well, i live in beaumont , texas. Hurricane Ike just hit....so i can't track now. Hopefully, everyone is O/K in Beaumont. They say beaumont won't have power for 3 weeks. my sister didn't evacuate.

is anybody else here on evacuation?

I hope i return to a non-destroyed, livable home this year. I'm gonna go sse if i can get fema to help me later.

Ike was a big pain in the ass. I didnt evacuate, as I dont live in any of the evac zip codes.

I live in the Montrose in Houston. We had a great deal of hi winds and rain. We lost power about 5am saturday morning. Power came back on around noon on sunday. I realize I am very fortunate to have power, as there are millions in Houston and the surrounding area that are without power. We have plenty of provisions. No power at the studio which in downtown. It appears the studio is just 2 blocks shy of being in downtown proper, if it was I'd have power there too.

I have spent most of saturday talking to family and friends, and thank goodness everyone is ok. Houston, and mainly Galveston is wrecked. Water service is available but the water is not safe to drink.

Wagz, Baytown got hit pretty hard. I know mayor White of Houston, and the mayor of Galveston advise for people to wait to come back to the evac zones a couple days, as to wait for services and clean up to be done.

I hope all the rest of my fellow GS'ers and the civilians too are alright.

Eric, I am glad you got out of galveston before the storm. The Island is not where you want to be right now. No worries about the flame. Have a few cold ones for me!
