Help..I am so Pissed

Ok..Theres a bill collector been calling my house for a old school loan..I have not spoken with him yet. This morning my wife walks out the door and our neighbog comes over and told her that the guy called her house...my fu*king neighbor..that we dont even know..I mean is that leagle? I am going to pay my bill..but Im always goan when this dude calls..I cant belive he looked up my address and then found the number to my neighbors house by our address...man I wish there was something I could do to get that guy!! he's lucky he dont live close to me!uurrrhh

I got a call regarding my brother in law...I'm afraid it's fairly common practice...

It's understandable, though, as you do owe them money...

It's $270.00..no problem.can pay it next week..the point is that I havent had a chance to talk to them..I did get their letter and am sending my payment with the slip that was provided...but dont call my neighbor that I dont even know!!

Yeah I hear you, it could be a bit embarrasing. Still, they´re just doing their job and if they haven´t been able to reach you yet, they will try anyway they see fit.

Even asking your neighbours if they have seen you around lately.

No, that is NOT LEGAL! This is private, confidential information that is being shared with a third party who has NO BUSINESS knowing about your financial affairs. The reason that these ******bags get away with it is because they're fairly certain that no one's going to hire an attorney and sue their asses back to the stone age. I had that happen and then, I had my friend, who happens to be a lawyer, give them a courtesy call. The calls stopped coming then ...
