| R.I.P. Joe Strummer http://www.cnn.com/2002/SHOWBIZ/Musi...mer/index.html Sad news... Joe Strummer dead at 50. London Calling is in my list of top ten records of all time, produced by the madman Guy Stevens. I remember buying the first Clash album on import here in the USA when it came out... can it really be that long ago? A bad year for heroes passing on.

| I had a Clash listening rebirth this year. I listened to them almost everyday for 3 months. It reminded me of what good, solid rock from a band with a creative edge and a distinct sound is worth against today's backdrop of cookie-cutter self-agonizing power pop/metal and the sugar-coated dance junk that has never left. Not only that, but the Clash still holds up quite well while modern bands are no more than a flash in the pan at best. Joe's was a unique voice.
