Please stop posting in TEXT format

This has been driving me up the wall for a while. The people that go through and post on here like they are texting. I don't know what it is that drive me up the wall about it so much. I had a student hand me a paper that was typed in text and they thought it was okay. Please people stop with the "Cos, n, gr8, 2" it is because, and, great, and to or two. I just read five posts that all were like that. I may just start typing IN ALL CAPS, JUST BECAUSE I CAN.

Now you can respond in text format.

EDIT - lets not forget that while today's youngins like to lay claim to bad spelling and grammar used in txts, some of us were using it on MIRC channels before they were even born.

I'm tired of having to go get my 17 year old daughter to translate text grammar on this forum. It just solidifies my position as uncool.

Later for her. She can keep her MP3's and her Sidekick. I still have my albums and old eight inch long cell phone.

I can always use google or wikipedia to interpret.

Who's cool now shawty? Who's cool now...?

For the faithful gentry, l33t is defined here:

all those abbreviations, acronyms, usage of numbers is still somwhat intelligible but oh dear lord you have not yet seen the /b/ language. if you don't know what /b/ is, consider ignorance as a bliss.

and oh, I read a news today that somwbody had suggested again to frop excessive letters from diffcult english words.
It is OK to simplify the language in terms of making it more intelligible but if you start making changes because the youth is totally retarted (that's internet "retarted") something is horribly wrong. Has anyone seen the Idiocrazy movie?

Are they lazy? Or are you lazy in not keeping up with the times? It's ok to think TXT abbreviations are stupid, but to declare it as the state of our nation is a bit of a hyperbole.

BTW, ok is short for okay, which is short for all right or 'nuff said etc.... The updating of communication terms will NEVER stop.

I think your lazy for not using an apostrophe for your written abbreviations, as well as your failure to hit the spacebar twice between sentences.

Peace.

if the nation to which you are referring is the united states, then indeed you are correct to proclaim said state is a sad one.

how ever, here in Canada (although I'm only speaking on behalf of myself and my many personalities) we are not lazy. we are efficiency specialists.

Hold on. If you're going to criticize someone's grammar, make sure yours is on point. It's not "I think your lazy...", its "I think you're lazy".

Worse yet, my friend, the grade school teacher, told me that kids are handing in papers in text talk. Highschool kids who have no idea how to write.
