bingo! what brought you here, Icecoldr? did you need to read up on all the latest mbox, presonus, behringer, mackie and latest, greatest chinese ldc craze fo dayz? sounds like pure jealousy to me. i agree that if you're inspired, don't let the lack of boutique gear stop you. and for sure, develop your chops on whateva you got, but gimme a fackin break, once you've paid your dues woodsheddin and get on the quality stuff (see "vintage,"or vintage reissue) there ain't no turnin back!

i recently helped out a bro who has all the "KILLA TRAX" of your boy there and has some tunes that really pop, but the vocals were all tracked through the sh1t you're sayin will do. well they didn't. i brought over some bumpin mics, pre and conversion and he was floored. he realized his bottleneck was all the sh1t gear he had.

Trashy pre amps if they can even be called pre amps, (M-audio) im buying up more and more M-audio stuff just to "get the job done"

My Mic is $200, untreated room.

I do think its not possible to use a squire strat and a solid state amp and get a good tone though, but a $99 tube amp and new pickups could sound as good as a $2000 strat, might not stay in tune long..

Im pro sumer trash heaven.

you got 2 back a statement like that up...

Absolutely not true. On day, it will be vintage gear. Really, really crappy vintage gear...but vintage none the less

I agree, but I also get bashed a lot for saying things that may seem relative, or for having posted over a 1,000 posts since 2007. What can I say? I just really got into this forum, and I think i wrote a lot of useful posts and if it wasn't it got lost in the useless threads.

I guess I don't mind all the suggestions...In fact, I came here specifically for gear suggestions. I understand what you are saying but really, I sometimes like to see what tools are the best. Sure, I can frame a house with a 2.99 Stanley hammer, but I would rather have The Hitachi NV83A2 air powered coil framing nailer. After all, I am a gearslut!

MMM, 512MB 10 years ago on what? a pentium II? I have 512 right now in my pc with nuendo. I start with cassette bouncing (2decks). When the computer started to come suitable for audio recording it was like touching the sky with my hands. Pardon my english. Spanish speaker here. Greetings from Argentina.

Perhaps gearbonerz.com will become the next big pro audio forum.
